I won'T support them anymore if they constantely go down that road. But I'll still buy The Last Story, because I don't want to miss this chance. It might be their last physical one -_-

Unfortunately, with the state of the JRPG as it is in this country, XSEED is not the only company that's going to go with a primarily DD model for JRPGs. Part of the problem with physical releases for the 3DS is while the system is pretty new, the carts cost an arm and a leg, so if you have poor sellthrough (which JRPGs do unless they're named Final Fantasy), you can lose a lot of money with returns. I know it was mentioned earlier that you tend to wait to buy something until the price drops and that's a common tendency with JRPGs as well, to sit in the bargain bin. You know companies don't get the same profit from a $60 copy that they do with $20. It just isn't mathematically possible. If this game gets a physical release on the PSP (which it may or may not), it's SOLELY because Sony's practically giving UMDs away right now to get rid of whatever supply they have left. There's still a LOT of risk there with the issues raised earlier, but it's to a much smaller scale than say a Retro Game Challenge.

It's a practice that is a bad situation for the customer (though Steam and all the other DD platforms out there show that a great deal of customers are coming to grips with the new release model for one reason or another), but makes a great deal of sense for companies. Ultimately you're left with the question of whether a DD release is better than no release because in some cases that is literally the only profitable option for a game. And last I checked, XSEED and all the other video game companies are for profit and are not nonprofit outfits.

I could buy that excuse for Wizardry and Corpse Party after some convincing, and perhaps even Sumioni due to its length, but I will not buy that excuse for this game. There is no reason for this to go DD on the 3DS, and I have to admit I'm stuck wondering why. I'd love to hear an explanation from someone at XSEED.

NEW JRPG are instant buy full price for me.

DL only or no game > In my book it's the same. Fortunately it's not the same for everyone out there. But when I see a dl only game, I tend to look more at my shelf and tell myself ''You got real games to play''

    This.
When it's a company I support I try my hardest to buy it new at full price.
DD only just means I'll have more money in my pocket.
If it is XSEED doing this game and it is DD then it's clear.
Fully knowing that a lot of their fans prefer physical over DD and now make more then half of their recent releases DD only just shows it's only about profit and not about the fans anymore.

    Games Finished:
-Final Fantasy 4 Advance -Knights In The Nightmare -Legacy of Ys 1 -Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia -Eternal Sonata PS3, Resident Evil: ORC PS3

Wizardry is an old franchise with an existing fanbase. This is a one-off very niche game on a system with an unproven userbase for this sort of content, plus it's a platform that's more expensive to publish on. It has more going against it than Wizardry did.

Maybe it's just my lack if disdain for digital releases, but I think people are severely overreacting.

Xseed is a company, ALL companies are about profit. The only time this isn't true is when the head(s) care more about the people then the money, and those people rarely stay in business long. Don't forget that with the possible exception of Angry Sales Monkey, none of the XSeed employees that post on the forums have any real power over what the company does.
