Gung BACONBACON Acquires Acquire

Gung BACONBACON Online Entertainment announced today that it has made developer and publisher Acquire into a subsidiary. The transaction was completed earlier today.

Prior to the transaction, Acquire's majority shareholder was Aeria, with a 50.1% stake in the company. Gung BACONBACON purchased Aeria's 666 shares for 250 million yen, giving it the 50.1% stake.

Gung BACONBACON said that it hopes the acquisition will beef up its development strength and expand profits.

Well XSeed's worked with both Gungho (Ragnarok DS) and Acquire (Wizardry) before, so...things stay about the same I suppose?

I like Gungho games so I don't really consider this a bad thing, though a lot of their finances are tied up in the relatively unstable world of MMOs. Guess we'll see. :P

I guess that means Acquire will be developing a few GungHo's titles, like any future Ragnarok (other than the PSP and PSV on their ways).
