Ever forgot you owned a game?

I know a lot of us over here have our own collection of games, some are small, some are big and some are....well, out of proportions

But have you ever bought so many random games that you've forgotten you even owned something?

This has happened to me twice, right now i was going through my list of games on raptr to rate Alpha Protocol and i come accross Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for the Wii, i was like "huh? why is this game on my collection? did i accidentally add it?" and before i remove it, i decide to check out my actual library of Wii games and the game is there...i didn't remember buying it before.

I guess that for me, it has a lot to do with the fact that i don't really have any specific path i follow for buying games, i buy anything that interests me and sometimes, even games that don't interest me at all if the price is good enough.

Anyone got any stories to share on this matter?

I think that never happened to me. But I have a ''small'' 288 games collection.

I have a very up to date inventory, is more for the books that I do that :S happened twice

Yeah, I own about 2,800 games overall and don't ever go fully through it. There have been times when I've bought a few games two - three times because I forgot I had them lol.

No, but on the opposite I sometimes think I still have Summon Night: Swordcraft Story and I actually spent forever looking for it once only to remember this dude borrowed it and moved to BACONBACONBACONBACONing New York City.

I'm not sure why, but I apparently have two copies of Phantasy Star IV. I do know why I have two copies of Diablo II (I thought I lost it so I bought another). This is half of the reason why I keep tabs of my full collections now (well, the main ones anyway, still need one for CDs and books...).

My collection's on the smaller side and I'm picky with my purchases, so I haven't forgotten about owning anything completely, though I did have a few games I was surprised to learn I still had. (My mom and sister moved cross-country in 2008 and I thought sis had made off with about half of my teensy GBA collection, but I found most of them about a year later in the box she'd "packed" them in for me. Cute.)

2,800 isn't that much in the collectors community (Abve average maybe). If you don't collect I guess it might be lol.

Normal to buy games multiple times? No, I wouldn't think so, I should be more on point with checking what I own.

I'm a little tiny collector then ^^ I buy games a lot for my budget, but I want to find the time to play them all Goal of my life (no-life :O)
