The thing that keeps Nintendo portables strong in the west is obviously their first party titles like Mario and Mario Kart, along with Pokemon. There wasn't a lot of western support for the psp, and it doesn't have franchises that are as widely known. I think the Vita's success in the west hinges on games that appeal to that market. I think the Uncharted game should be a good starting point, but we'll see how things go.

Games Beaten in 2013: 8: Retro Game Challenge, Corpse Party 2U, Code of Princess, Dark Souls, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Atelier Meruru, Yakuza: Dead Souls, Liberation Maiden

As long as the Vita has a better launch than the PSP, I'll be happy.

Well, it has very big expectations. So I think it'll do better than the PSP.

I just picked up Fate/Extra this past Tuesday. Corpse Party comes out in a couple weeks and then Grand Knights History some time early next year. What else is still coming out for the PSP that is worth looking into???

I think Aksys is bringing over Hakuoki (if you're into that kinda thing) and Nisa is bringing over Black Rock Shooter. Other than that I'm not sure.

Actually I am looking forward to both of those games. I don't think Black Rock Shooter has a release date yet from what I've heard and Hakouki is early next year. Also, Final Fantasy Type-O looks interesting if/when it comes out to the states. Also, the rest of LoH: TitS saga if it ever comes out. Might be on Vita by the time they are made.

Other than Fate/Extra and Hakuoki (Aksys), Corpse Party and Grand Knights History (XSEED), Black Rock Shooter (NISA), there aren't any announced upcoming niche games for the PSP.

Check out the "Upcoming" section at the bottom: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...Portable_games

Japan is still getting a lot of games, but the selection has become very limited for everyone else.

And they're all awesome games I'm going to buy. ♥
I just hope Square Enix localized FF Type-0.
