More than the concept of the book itself, Lost Magic really didn't sell me on the idea of having to draw spells. Doubt I'll ever finish that game for just that reason. The same would make me not want to play the Ni no Kuni DS version either other than seeing how atypically nice the game is on the DS.

Though I admit it does sound unique (never heard of another game requiring a book), I can definitely imagine that it would quickly lose its novelty and become annoying. I don't see why they couldn't have incorporated this book into the game, which would've made referring to it a lot more easier. At least, I would imagine so.

I'm more interested in the DS ver. because of its high values. You expect PS3 games to have beautiful graphics and lots of voice acting. However, the same can't be said about DS games.
Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no Madōshi is something I haven't really seen on a portable console and that's why I would like to have the DS ver. brought over as well.

It's an interesting concept, but when you're playing the game on your bed at 12am at night with the lights out, then every other 5 minutes it asks you to flip to a certain page in the actual book to draw the spell, it gets really really really annoying.

Doesn't change the fact that it's a cool book though. I would've forked out 30 bucks for the book itself.

But yeah, the book should've been a limited edition item or something and you should've been able to refer to the spells within the game.

    Dun dun dun ...

But what of the DS original? Eurogamer put in a call to the studio's US office for clarification, but a spokesperson offered no more than a 'watch this space'.

The DS idea of the book is neat, but I just don't see it doing well out of Japan... Maybe in Europe, if anything.

Progress! In the meantime hope to finish Solatorobo by the time this game is released (I only play Solatorobo when I travel so I can enjoy the game longer lol!)
    My most anticipated game

Nice to finally see a trailer and some news-I was getting worried when it was so quiet for so long, then suddenly it slipped to 2013. :/ This looks lovely! Totally gave me that warm, fuzzy, yet excited feeling when I see a Ghibli film in general. The art style translated very well to the gameplay. And the voices sound good thus far. Sign me right up!
