Early DLC isn't inherently a bad thing. In some cases, yes, companies are just screwing over consumers by selling them an incomplete game. But with the way game development works, you can't just keep adding content until the last minute. It's like filming a movie before you have all the scenes planned out, or writing a book before you have the characters and plot nailed down. There has to be a cut-off point, and sometimes content is thought up and created after that point, and it becomes early DLC like this.

Whether or not this is good or bad DLC has yet to be determined, but it doesn't bother me that they are announcing it. And it might just be costume type stuff, who knows.

Edit: Unless you just hate DLC, which isn't very rational. DLC and expansions can turn mediocre games into good ones or good ones into great ones, WipeoutHD (+Fury) and Age of Empires 2 (+The Conquerors) are good examples.

I have nice things to say when there is reason to.

I was a perfectly contented, perfectly happy gamer last gen. This gen has turned gaming to BACONBACONBACONBACON.

Pardon me if taking huge swathes of the game and selling them for a premium price ON TOP OF charging the full retail price for 2/3 or even 1/2 the game seems a bit cynical to me.

It is always bad, 100% of the time.

The formula is simple - put it on a disc, sell it.

It's not that hard to BACONBACONBACONBACON up but companies just see the opportunities for greed time and time again and happily gouge customers whenever they can.

I enjoy games from Level5, but I guess I'd have to be a Ghibli fan to really get a kick out of their contribution.

couldn't you just buy it new and not get the DLC? Would still not be supporting the DLC you hate.

So why don't you just buy a book with chapters ripped out? Would that be okay?

Did you even read the rest of my post? Eh. There isn't even a point in trying to debate, you're not going to be reasonable.

I did, but it wasn't relevant. If it's just costumes, then put it on the BACONBACONBACONBACONing disc!

How often do you see DLC for stuff that isn't post game?

There's a difference between chapters being ripped out of the middle, and the book just not having an epilogue.
