The desperation involved there would need to be pretty significant

hmm, not much of an update at the falcom web site, just the trailer so far.
at any rate, i went bonkers and got a psvita for that purpose, as well as uncharted to test the vita..looking foward to it

Is anyone else anticipating this game as much as I am? I don't think I've been as excited about any upcoming video game in the last 12-13 years as I am about Ys Celceta. I watch the trailer every now and then and love the upgraded Vita graphics as well as the fact that they kept that amazing battle engine from Ys Seven.

I've already bought a PSVita for this game, even though there aren't really any games that I want on the system yet. I did buy a download of Ys Seven for it, which looks great on the OLED screen with the bilinear filtering turned on.

Tom, please say that there will be a premium edition for this game if you guys pick it up. Of all the games that XSeed could be releasing in the next couple of years, this one arguably deserves it the most.

Yeah, my faith in XSeed will be at an all-time low if they can't at least manage a standard edition physical for this.

I imagine if we got the game (which seems likely), we probably would. But if we didn't... well, as they say in Japanese, shikata nai -- it can't be helped.

We do what we can. But if something is beyond our ability to accomplish, it's beyond our ability to accomplish. All we can do is try!

The thing is, most of the time these things CAN be helped (unless there's a rights issue), it's just that it requires more risk than a company is willing to take.

I really think you could have broke even on a Corpse Party UMD release. I don't blame you for seeing it as an extremely risky venture before the game became a success on PSN, though.

But if XSeed is really that conservative, I don't think they would have taken their chances with FOUR Falcom physical LEs in a row.

Honestly, I'd buy Ys Vita so hard that it's already pre-ordered months before XSEED announce it.

If everyone here didn't know me already, I'd say I got a Vita specifically for this game.

MML3's cancellation turned me off from ever buying systems specifically for games that haven't been released yet.
