Ys - Celceta, Sea of Trees (Ys IV) announced for Vita

You know I was thinking about the whole Dogi getting replaced by that white-haired guy thing and it just got me wondering. In oath in felghana I remember Dogi mentioning at some point near the beginning when he is asked what he has been up to that they've been "saving the world". Maybe I am not recalling the line correctly or maybe I'm just crazy (I do have a pretty bad memory) but from what I know Oath comes after 4 and 4 is supposed to be Adol's second adventure, but I am guessing that line implies that by Falcom's standards Dogi "should" be in Falcom's version of 4. I'm guessing that means he might be a cameo or a later party member. I kinda doubt the latter since those videos are making it seem like he only gets two partners this time around.

Dogi IS in every existing version of Ys IV so far, so based on the current timeline, he definitely SHOULD show up in the game somewhere. Whether or not he will, however, is anyone's guess until the Vita title is released.

Don't let that line fool you, though -- that was us, not Falcom. The original line was something like, "Not too much, just been traveling the world with my buddy Adol here." Jess, actually, embellished that one a bit.

I figured it was something like that. Well I'll keep my hopes up then. I was kinda disappointed when I saw that he seemed to be replaced.

I wonder if XSEED could start the localization process before the game is released in Japan.

Guess it all depends on how early the script is done, but a worldwide release is hoping for a bit much I think

I'm totally confident that XSEED will localize this game, I just hope we see it next year and it's not put off for a while.

Next year is all we know I think, but since it was originally intended to be a launch game (or launch window game) it will probably be pretty early in the year.
