I'm just about 20 hours in and I can honestly say this has to be one of the best RPGs I've played in a long, long time. Anyone who has the capability to order products online should seriously consider importing this, otherwise they may be missing out on what I personally consider to be a defining moment in JRPG history.
That has been pretty much my exact reaction as well. I'm around 50 hours in and the game is still overwhelmingly awesome. Every new area is astoundingly gorgeous, the characters are all extremely unique and fun to switch around and try, there's tons of sidequests, a great plot, loads of things to customize and collect, its got a phenomenal soundtrack and some of the best and most involved action-RPG gameplay I've ever experienced, etc. etc. etc... You could seriously go on for days about how great the game turned out to be. Monolith literally took the JRPG genre, hooked it up to a defibrillator, and just jolted the ever-loving hell out of it.

After getting considerably into the game, I absolutely refuse to believe that ANYONE at NOA actually tried it out and decided it wasn't worth a North American release. It just doesn't make sense. It's evident from the get-go that the game is one of those "once in a generation" incredible releases, and my guess is that they're saving it until closer to the Wii U's release to give it more of a solid launch lineup. It would give those "hardcore" gamers who never owned a Wii a pretty good reason to buy and try it out on the new Wii U, while simultaneously appeasing the already huge amount of Wii-only owners. Again, that's purely my guess, if it so happens that the years go by and we never see this released, I will be utterly astonished.

I was actually coming to post here and say about the same thing. I'm floored, both by how amazing this game is and at the fact NoA could find a reason not to release this here.

The worst part about it is the people who would be interested in importing, but write it off as something that people are only excited about because "it's just a decent Wii game and those don't come along too often" or "it's a hipster game, if it was released locally they wouldn't care as much about it."

Certainly one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and without question one of my top games of the generation. The fourth game to sit in the top tier along with Mario Galaxy (1+2) and Demon's Souls.

EVERYONE I've seen play it rants and raves about how it's the best RPG of the generation. It's practically a crime against humanity if NOA or SOMEONE else doesn't release the game here.

I think I'm spending too much time exploring/revealing maps and doing quests. Will have over 150 quests done by the time I finish Eryth Sea/Alcomoth. And that's not even taking into account Colony 6 which I haven't even been in yet.

And this song was too good to just be played once. But the point that it does play is pretty awesome.

Game was released a few days ago, thankfully Gamefly has the game available to rent, so I should be getting it very soon!
