Steins;Gate is a Japanese visual novel developed by 5pb. and Nitroplus, and was released on October 15, 2009 for the Xbox 360. This is the two companies' second time collaborating together after Chaos;Head...The game is described by the development team as a "hypothetical science ADV"...The gameplay in Steins;Gate follows a linear plot line which offers pre-determined scenarios with courses of interaction.

The story of Steins;Gate takes place in Akihabara and is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN who has been doing their own research on time travel tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them. Steins;Gate has been praised for its intertwining storyline and the voice actors have been commended for their portrayal of the characters

Why:
A fanbase for Steins;Gate has been growing in the US, thanks to the recent anime adaptation being streamed on Crunchy Roll. The fanbase will probably continue to grow after Funimation releases the anime on DVD. The success of 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors for the DS also proves that there is an audience who is willing to buy visual novels in America.
Steins;Gate has been released on the Xbox 360, PSP, PC, and soon will be on iOS devices this summer so there are many different ways to bring Steins;Gate to the States. Think about it!

But as far as nitroplus goes, I believe JAST USA has a partnership with them, so they probably have first dibs on something like this.

Ya... but JAST USA only publishes 18+ Bishojo games. I think Steins;Gate deserves to be released in the US by a classy localization company, like XSeed.

Firstly, Chaos; Head would have to be brought over; even though Steins; Gate can stand on its own in terms of narrative content.

I did know about the Steins;Gate translation project but it would still be nice for an official translation to be release. Also an English translation was released back in 2008 for Chaos;Head by TLWiki.

I would love to have this game localised. Chaos;HEAd would be awesome too. Maybe XSEED can just buy the English script if it was done well.

I know this post is old but just want it to be known that this is no longer the case since Aselia is not 18+ http://www.jastusa.com/aselia/index.html and JAST said if it sells well they will look into doing more "all ages" games in the future

I don't think they've ever done a console game though, so if we do get Stein's Gate from them it would be the PC version I'm sure
