    Thanks for the recommendation!
    Try to read Remember11 also.
It's next part of the infinity series and as for me, much better than Ever 17.
First, it doesn't force you to read 4 routes just to get to the true route, Remember11 only has one route but with multiple endings, most of which are, actually, bad ends.
Second, it has a more realistic and mature characters instead of grotesque unrealistic schoolers in Ever17.
And third and the most important is genre. Instead of light romantic Sci-Fi like Ever 17, Remember 11 is Hard Psychological Thriller/Sci-fi with much more suspense.
Oh, and in case you're interested, a lot of mysteries and unexpected plot twists are still there. Although, Remember11 has a problem (well, problem for many other fans, I personally count it not as a problem, but as a good side). Remember11 does not answer all of the questions within a plot and has an open ending which means you should yourself find a solution to some mysteries. Hints are all in the novel.
Oh, and Try to read Chaos;Head(In case you haven't seen a horrible anime-adaptation of it. It really one of the worst adaptations ever. Even plot was changed at some points) or Steins;Gate (Again, If you didn't watch an anime, which much better than the Chaos;Head adaptation).
Well, just passing by with advices.

Why not? Some eroge are quite awesome and worth the shot, like Sengoku Rance for instance. Don't be so close minded. There is rubbish AND valuable things everywhere.

    What's Sengoku Rance like?

It's a visual-novel with a nice RPG aspect. And the main goal is to conquer Japan during its "Sengoku" period. Actually its a parodic vision of Japan, a lot of anachronisms, historical characters are sometimes represented as weird animals (Ieyasu Tokugawa is an obese racoon dog...), or they switch genders compared to the original for... scenario matters, I let you imagine why ^^ (like the legendary Uesugi Kenshin who becames a girl in Sengoku Rance). These aspects are quite fun.
But the best thing in the game, it's the main character, Rance. This huge contrast between him and the world were he arrived, coming out from nowhere (from the future perhaps), that's just awesome. His personal goal is just to have sex with every single woman in Japan, but he becames in charge of the Oda house, because Nobunaga Oda got sick for a mysterious reason (~~no~spoil~inside~~)... So Rance has to go over his sex appetite and to unify the entire Japan, by gathering troops from other regions, fighting the other lords and resolve a weird national conspiracy linked to Nobunaga's illness...
I found the background music pretty nice too, especially the world maps ones!

Everybody should try it, check out Google and get its English patched version!
And be warned, that's for adults only, of course

I wouldn't call Sengoku Rance a visual novel. It has dating sim and visual novel elements, but it's most definitely a strategy RP first and foremost. Still a fantastic game, though.
