    I personally think they fall under "adventure games" more than "visual novels," but some people classify it as a "visual novel with a logic game attached," or something, simply because of the "talking heads."

    If that's the case, then Phantasy Star Portable 2 is a "visual novel with an action RPG attached," because of the aforementioned "talking heads."
    Dynasty Warriors PSP vol. 1 and 2 are "visual novels with hack-and-slash games attached," then, because "talking heads" are featured.
    Mass Effect is a "visual novel with a third-person shooter RPG attached" because--you guessed it, talking heads (quite literally, too).

    And so on, and so forth.

    I usually play a lot of VN in Summer. I'm with Muv-Luv Alternative right now but I don't have the computer that I have the game, so I have to wait. I like Otomate too, but it's hard that I like one because sometimes they make characters looks very gay. Now I want to get Demonbane, but I'll buy it next year.

    I've played a large number of visual novels, some of them even non-pornographic. My favorite is Ever 17.

    Demonbane was good stuff, I'm glad I took the trouble of playing it. I'll be looking forward to playing more visual novels in the future. The next one I'm looking into is Phantom of Inferno.

    I'm just starting Demonbane. My laptop I've had for about 6 years died only a couple days after I got it so I just bought a new one yesterday lol. I'll be buying more VNs in the future.

    I've played Hourglass of Summer and some of Ever17. But I bought those two VNs at a store, not online. It's a little hard when you can't find them anywhere except online, though I should try to do so ^_^;

    I'm probably gonna pick up Higurashi now that mangagamer is putting out physical copies. Big fan of the anime.

    hey SolidusSnake I have a couple Demonbane questions. does the extra gallery stuff get unlocked by beating the game once? I thought it might fill up as you go but it seems like it doesn't. also, one of the cutscenes, the anime one when they are getting in demonbane (its showed more than once) it has a gray bar on the bottom of the screen under the subtitles. I'm wondering if it's some kind of error so I'm just asking if that happens for you too. Last thing is, I'm not very used to playing games on my pc so I'm not quite sure where the save data goes. It doesn't seem to be inside the demonbane folder but I might just not know what it's called. That one is more just curiousity though it's not a big deal if i don't know. thanks

    Hey bro. You unlock the gallery stuff after you beat the game, so if there's any scene you know you'll want to go back to you might wanna make a separate save file. As for the bar... well maybe Demonbane is just glitchy. I had a bright green bar under some of my movies... I mean freaking Xbox 360 case bright vomit green. Just one of those things I guess. Now as for your saves... even for a pc gamer they may be a BACONBACONBACONBACONBACON to find. See, they're saved in the appdata folder. Go to C:\User\yourusername\appdata\roaming\nitroplus\dem onbane usa\version2.00 and you'll find the save files. If you're using Vista you might have to type C:\user\yourname\appdata to get into the folder, cuz it may not show up if you're exploring it normally. Hope this helps, and by all means enjoy the game.

    Thanks for the answers. The characters are pretty funny in this game even though there's serious stuff too. Has a good balance I think.
