    34.99?!?!

Why does this cost 5 dollars more than every other DS game that isn't published by Nintendo or Square Enix? I would preorder it right now if it was $30, but at $35 I'm hesitant.

I remember when I purchased Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, that one was also $34.99, and it's not from a major-name company (and though I kind of looked twice at that one's price, it was totally worth it in hindsight).
I'm not entirely sure what determines DS game pricing, however. XP Hopefully someone here will have an answer.

...a $5 difference brings you from "pre-order" to "hesitant"? DS games have always ranged from $20~$40 new, is $35 really that unexpected or ridiculous? Dragon Quest Monsters 2, Kirby Mass Attack, and Professor Layton and the Last Specter are riding $40 price tags right now, and like Norse I also purchased 999 for $35 and felt it to be a fantastic value. This game looks like a blast, has been well received, and I can assure you will be of an extremely high quality when it comes out here in the fall. Your "extra" $5 DS money will not be spent in vain.

$35 is fairly standard for a lot of "higher-end", longer DS games. Hell, most of Square-Enix's games first retailed for $40.

If you are hesistent because of $5, then maybe you shouldn't even be pre-ordering, even if it was $30?

I'm personally used to DS games ranging in the $29.99 - $34.99 field and if it's a game a i really want or am looking forward to and plan to pre-order no matter what, $5 or even $10 will not deter me.

I very honestly don't see the problem, sure, times are tough and the economy has literally gone down the crapper nowadays, but $34.99 for a new release on the DS is pretty normal, i'ld say $40 is NOT normal, but i know a few select titles have come out retailing at $40.

Personally, I don't care how much it costs. I've been waiting for this game to be released in the US ever since it was announced for Japan last year and I'm hoping that Xseed also releases a collector's edition like Namco did in Japan. I'd be willing to spend more than $35 on that Collector's edition.

$5 is a big deal if you're tight on money and/or buy a lot of games

I'm pretty sure 34.99 is the standard fare for new DS games. But if you are hesitant to preorder the game then don't do it. There's no need to rush. You still have plenty of time to decide if the game is worth it or not.

For a game of this quality it deserves that price point. XSEED is doing us a huge favor by releasing it here. Otherwise, we would have to pay $50 to import it from Europe. So in other words, quit whining over a $5 difference.

EDIT: Just preordered it on Amazon

I'm willing to pay $60 for a Collector's edition, so $34.99 is just the right price for the standard. Maybe you should be more thankful that it's getting a US release, I know I am.
