So just some thoughts that I had. Xseed is already working on localizing a 3DS game but they're releasing it as a digital download on the E-shop to cut down on production costs right? I was thinking about it this morning and does anyone else think this could be a marvelous business model for localizing more Japanese games?
Obviously Xseed doesn't think they're going to sale all that many copies and therefore are saving money by eliminating things like packaging, cartridges, shipping and cutting retailers out of the picture entirely. I think as long as they pass these savings on to the consumer that this is a great idea. They also don't have to worry about how many copies they print affecting sales through lack of availability. I'd think around $20 is a nice price plus it would probably equal a good bit more sales.
Personally I'd love to see them do this with Senran Kagura, it's a niche game but those that it appeals to do really want it and will most likely pay for it day one. I'd gladly pay for the game on a digital store as long as it isn't at a retail price. I think they could probably save even more money and room by just keeping the Japanese voice acting not having to pay English VAs.
That's an excellent idea, I would love to see this released as a digital download. Keeping the Japanese voice acting would be a must and I really don't think having English voice acting as an option is even necessary.
I've just started following this topic relatively recently. Does anyone know if XSEED has said anything in regard to this game? It's hard to believe they wouldn't want to bring it over given how much fan demand there is.
I can't imagine the Japanese audio being exactly "cheap" either though. There's some pretty big names in there, and the exchange rate might kick them in the butt.
Would definitely prefer the Jp voice acting though.

Is the game heavily-voiced? I'd think that there are only grunts.
Sure they might have to pay royalties or something. But that's not as bad as having to go through VA casting, pay the VAs, rent out a studio for the recordings, etc.
I'm not sure if it's heavily voiced but I'm pretty sure I've seen voiced cutscenes for this game. I can't imagine them not having voices since it's sort of a standard these days.
One doesn't hire Asami Imai just to have her grunt. lol. XD

Ever since they announced Unchained as DD-only, I came up with the feeling that if SK comes over, it'll be digital too. I'm okay with either as long as I get to play it, but being DD-only has a tendency to incite rage in the community. Dunno how justified that rage would be in a case like Senran Kagura's, since DD gives it its greatest fighting chance. Everyone would prefer to have something over having nothing, right?
Wyrdwad/Tom (an XSEED employee) gave the game praise and said he wanted to give it a try earlier in the thread, but that's about it. I don't think they've officially confirmed or denied anything yet.
