Isn't that how it always worked when distributing games? Publishers pay manufacturers to create the physical goods and distributers to distribute to retailers.

Yeah, maybe Co-publish with Marvelous Entertainment USA like they did with most of their previous titles, Did something happen to that company?
Also, isn't Marvelous AQL (the developer) going to pitch this game to a publisher in the US, I heard that they were going to try that with the first game but started to work on the sequel.
Retail release, digital release or whatever. If the game comes to the west somehow, I'll pay good money for it.
Kinda wished that Tom and the others can shed some light on the current status of the situation right now. I'm getting rather impatient.
Arnold, the game is not finished yet, so the guys at XSEED can't form a solid opinion until the game is out. Also, I heard that Marvelous AQL was going to pitch the first game to a willing publisher in the US, but started to work on the sequel and decided to remake the first game with it and pitch that instead, so we'll have to wait and see what Marvelous AQL decides to do. Also, if XSEED does decide to put this on e-shop, there's no say in what Nintendo will think, take The Binding Of Isaac for example.

We just got this last week, so it could be a while before some news pops up.
Like Tails said, we probably shouldn't expect anything until some time after Burst comes out in Japan (end of August iirc).
As much as I like nintendo's first party games (as I did grow up with stuff like banjo kaoozie, super mario 64, ocarina of time, jet force gemini, donkey kong 64). I still don't see the reasoning behind region locking the 3ds, don't you lose more customers for region locking the darn thing. As good as first party is 3rd party games like this can really help buffer a systems library thus leading to more sales. Since I have both a 3ds and a vita, I can see the vita eventually overtaking the 3ds at some point or another if more 3rd party developers go that side. This leads me to wonder if the region lock can be undone on the 3ds via a software update.
