VK: ES Software Bug?

Not sure if I've found a bug in the software or if I just haven't completed the quest requirements yet. Here's the situation: I'm working on the Episode 1 quest to find the pendant in the Castle Ruins for the blacksmith in Este. I've been all the way out to the courtyard where the stairs go down to the lower levels and got the Princess Pendant from a chest that was there the 1st time I started this quest. After getting the pendant I continued down into the lower levels before teleporting back to Este with an Escape card. Returning to the blacksmith to turn in the pendant he fails to recognize that I have the pendant in my quest items and keeps telling me to go search the 1f of the Castle Ruins. I am wondering if there is another pendant he wants other than the one that I already have, or did my going through the circuitous route before returning to Este glitch something in the software, now making it impossible for me to complete this quest? Maybe the software was expecting me to return immediately after getting the pendant in order to get credit for finding it. If there's another chest and pendant other than the Princess Pendant I sure can't find it, and I've repeatedly looked over every square meter of the 1F for another chest.

I seem to have stumbled across another bug in the software. At the jeweler in Suzuri I was trying to get a ring crafted and after Rally asking if it's OK to spend the money the entire game freezes. It was the ring on page 2, 2nd from the bottom. A FAQ posted elsewhere calls it the Avoid Ring, with a cost of 1 patterned wing, 3 fairy wings, 1 gas crystal and 12000 gold. Somebody has apparently been successful getting this crafted since it's in the FAQ, but my Wii freezes up so solidly that I have to pull the plug to reset it. I've verified it is a repeatable bug by trying it several times from my last save point.

Well the problem somehow seems to have resolved itself. After going back to the guild again I was given the option to complete the quest, whereas earlier it was only offering the option to abandon it. No idea how it corrected itself but something in my running around and doing other things, mainly trying to boost up my levels, fixed it.
Also, in my other travels running around killing things, getting treasures, and leveling up, I went back to the jeweler in Suzuri and tried getting that ring crafted again and it worked without locking up the system. Again I have no idea how that bug resolved itself but it did. Weird.
