I like Doctor Who but with some many new Doctor Whos it's hard to tell who Doctor Who is.![]()
I'm a pretty big Doctor Who fan, since the late 90s. I can't say I've seen much of the newer generations (not on purpose), but they sure do carry the torch well. Effects-wise, they're definitely much improved over the super low budget, line-flubbing camp feel of the original. My favorite Doctor would be the first I ever saw (this seems to be common), Jon Pertwee. Venusian aikido, anyone? And, of course, I was rather crushed when Sarah Jane's actress, Elisabeth Sladen, died recently; Sarah was my favorite companion, by quite a long shot.

P.S. What are your favorite opening title sequences? Mine is the first slit-scan sequence, Jon Pertwee's second opening. Patrick Troughton's sequence is the best in terms of audio, though, since it includes an extended version of the theme.

My girlfriend is a HUGE Doctor Who fan and has been bugging me for some time now to give the series a try on Netflix. Recently finished the Robin Hood BBC series, so I might as well see what all the fuss is about!

Anyone who is a fan of both Doctor Who and anime needs to take a look at this, particularly if he/she is, like me, a fan of the Third Doctor:

Incredible that it was almost entirely done by one guy.

Hmm the mid-season finale didn't really leave much of an impact on me. While it was nice finding out more about River, it didn't really seem like it was as great as it could've been.
Let's Kill Hitler, now that was a pretty cool episode, with some interesting plot twists. Not to mention a couple of things I didn't really understand.
the main seasons i saw [that oddly broadcasted from that order] was season 3 to 5 or so, with david [jawbreaking family name :P], as well as season 6 with emily pond, loved itit was a sci fi channel being braodcasted among other shows, but sadly the channel went down
on bbc i cant say i have seen any info on the latest season.i also enjoyed the cameo appearnce of older support characters of the dr. as well as cameo of torchwood.
on side note, i saw the side show as well "torchwood" season 1 and 2 and the 3rd :"children of the earth"![]()
It was all right. I really loved the "Hitler. In a closet." thing though. ^O^
And Rory's becoming a really loveable character now. He had a few great lines in the recent episodes! ^o^ Plus I really like the dynamic he has with Amy. <3
I enjoy the idea of the Doctor's assistants being a married couple. ^.^
I do wonder if River's timeline is messed up now? Or if it's been missed up since The Impossible Astronaut? Given that she can't reveal future events involving herself (and the Doctor), it seems kind of weird that it looked like she didn't know about the astronaut and the Doctor's fate. :\ (Recall that the current Doctor and co. are "part of River's past" so she should technically know what will transpire. Or something?)
Moffat is throwing some crazy curveballs here. X_X

Agreed. I started off not really liking him very much at all, but he's grown on me a lot. He really makes for a good companion.
I didn't get the Doctor prying into his own fate in the Hitler episode. He seemed to be avoiding it so much in previous episodes, but now the info just pops up on the TARDIS screen. As for River it's hard to say. She meets up with the Doctor seemingly in a totally random order. Like during the last season when she said she'd see him again when the Pandorica opens, but when the event actually happens he's with a River that didn't know about it yet. It's hard to say how much she's knows each time we see her. It's all complicated. Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey.
