    Doctor? Who???

I do wonder why these forums are missing a TV section. Oh well. Anime/Movies is close enough. :P

SO! Any fans of the Doctor here?

Did you watch the season opener on Saturday??? Or are you one that shuns the modern series and loves the old school DW stuff?

Let's discuss! (But I suppose spoilers would still need to be marked?)

I watched it! It was pretty good I thought!

Lots happened in a short space of time and my head is still slightly reeling.

The aliens are pretty creepy though, maybe no so much how they looks (though they are pretty weird) but more for the fact that

*Spoilers* (I can't find the spoiler button)

you forget them as soon as you look away. Which is kind of similar to the angels where you can to keep your eye on them as well. Stephen Moffat seems to have a thing about looking away, or what you can't see.

I'm a fan of the Doctor both young and old! I've only seen a few of the 1st-3rd, 5th, and 6th doctors. I've haven't gotten around to picking up the movie either. The 4th doctor Tom Baker was just fantastic. I faintly remember watching it on PBS when I was little and have since picked up quite a few of his dvds. From classic Who, he is my favourite hands down.

For new Who though, it's hard to really pick a favourite. I mean, they all did such a great job. I thought Eccleston and Tennant were just wonderful. Even though I love Tennant's Doctor I wish Eccleston had stayed on a bit longer than he did. There were so many more stories to tell with that version of the Doctor.

Matt Smith had me from the first episode and the new season is already looking good. The Impossible Astronaut might just have one of the best openings I've seen in Who so far. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Not to spoil anything guys, I just want to say the new episode of Dr. Who aired here. It may just be added to my most favourite episodes of Dr. Who ever.

My love of River Song may have just reached an all new high.

Heh. I know some folks that feel that she's too Mary Sue for the show and the whole bit of never telling us about who she is (as well as the "Spoilers~~~~") is poor writing. But we're supposed to be getting the answer about her identity later on this season, yes? :D

I never minded River though. In fact, I liked her quite a bit when she first appeared in Silence in the Library and continue to enjoy her presence in every episode she appeared in afterward. :D

Can't wait to see this new episode! *___*

Your questions are answered in no doubt the next episode regarding River Songs identity.

    Whew!

Thank goodness The Curse of the Black Spot wasn't as cheesy as the preview(s) made it seem!

The episode was quite good! I loved a lot of the dialogue and thought a lot of the conversations between the Captain and the Doctor were well done.

    The only thing that bothered me was the Siren. Her face was creepy (and I'm not talking about when she gets the angry, demonic-like look). ^^;

I'm not personally a big Dr. Who fan, but I watched this with a friend the other day. I was initially rather bored with it, but I liked the revelation of the Siren's nature and I also approve of the ending: SPACE PIRATES!

That was the first episode I'd watched in many years, but I have fond childhood memories of some vague story involving a chess game?
