Terro > I'm having the same problem with Shadow hearts from the new world. I'm stuck at one place. Each time I get into a fight, it's game over...What should I do? Backtrack and level up? According to my guide, I'm half-way through the game.

Starting the day by synthesizing Chimeras and summoning Dragons is way too nice. Now on Grimgrimoire. Half-way through!

Still looking for Kid Icarus Cards! If you got any that you don't want anymore, they'll get some awsome love!

Yeah I'd just backtrack a bit and level grind. No point moving forward if you aren't up to strength and are having issues like that. I hate grinding, but it's ALOT better than dying in the SAME spot a million times!

What? That area was really nice looking. And it's where the story started getting serious too. My only complaint was the lack of landmarks, since traveling was a bit of a pain (especially to some of the coasts).

On my first playthrough, I swam the perimeter. It literally took me over an hour.

IIRC there's a specific point in the game where the difficulty level spikes quite a bit. While there isn't much grinding involved after that point, gaining a few levels early on after hitting that point makes the rest of the game more or less a breeze (much like most of the game early on).

Oh yes. Like I've said before, there's more nonlinearity in that ONE AREA than like all of FFXIII combined. If it weren't for the few landmarks (making questing tedious), I'd say it was my favorite area in the game.

Let me backpedal a bit. I liked Eryth Sea's upper layer and the islands, and I liked the story. I really did not like the swimming.

I, too, swam the perimeter. And I still have nightmares from doing so. Watching Shulk, Dunban, and Riki swim about the distance between Texas and Greece was maddening. To boot, this came just after Makna, where I spent half an hour swimming at the waterfall looking for the last landmark I needed. (Which I found after Alcamoth, natch...). I had just had more than enough mindless swimming by that point.
    A man, a plan, a corral: Texas.

Not playing it, but Rule of Rose is the strangest game and the only one I currently would ever really consider/categorize as "really BACONBACONBACONBACONing weird"

What is Rule of Rose like?

About to finish GrimGrimoire...After that... I'm into Shadow Hearts! Time to finish that game! A lot of grinding necessary... I only need to remember some things. Like...the one that can transform, how does it work again. Probably I can boost her up somehow...I'll probably read a lot of my game guide :S

shitty gameplay (from what I've watched and heard numerous complaints on), interesting and borderline disturbing creep story/plot/whatever

I've heard that this game is rare. I wonder why if it's so bad XD

    PS2 - GrimGrimoire : Fourth loop, Day 5...

I think it's just the unique plot that makes it stand out. Even I ended up ignoring the crap gameplay, since I just wanted to keep progressing in the story. And that RARELY ever happens with me. XD
If there were no (developer/publisher) to complain about, we would need to invent it.
