Playing Ys TOIF currently, can someone tell where that Hammer thingy that guy need to make my shield?

Edit: Even though Ys TOIF ending is quite tragic, I find it better then the Ys Seven ending. Never mind with hammer, I find it.

I was playing Ciel no Surge...and just about spit up my drink. Ion will mumble things to herself sometimes, but this time, she shouted out in a loud engrish voice, "YES! I can!...nanchatte..."

I got some serious portable gaming time in the last couple weeks:

DQIX - Finished the game after some 80 hours. Pretty decent entry, barring the extremely weak postgame content.

Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume - While certainly the shortest of the series, it still offers that nicely nihilistic tone rarely seen elsewhere. I put in multiple playthroughs and I'm good with that for now.

Suikoden: Tierkris - I know this entry is pretty much universally reviled in the Suikoden fanbase but barring some (ok, most) sketchy voice acting, I thought it was surprisingly good...certainly better than Suikoden IV, at any rate. Granted I think all the other main entries are better but that's for various reasons. :P

Infinite Space - The only game on this list I haven't gotten close to finishing yet. While the initial learning curve is pretty high, I've pretty much gotten into steamrolling everything at chapter 4 so hopefully this lasts. Despite a sloppy translation, I'm digging the plot thus far, if only because some of the relationships are unintentionally (?!?) amusing out here instead of Japan.

How much time did Valkyrie take you? And was it hard? sometime I fear that I'm bad at tactic games.

First playthrough was about 11 hours. Other than a few missions, it's pretty easy. One nice thing is the game makes it so that even in the tough missions, you always have an easy way out, which is nice for people who don't live and breathe strategy RPGs.

the story in that game is excellent. it is a very long game too (should be 50-60 hours depending on your speed)

OH MY GOSH. Curse you, language barrier! Every time I hear about this game, I want to play it more and more. Ion is adorable.
