Can anyone here sell me on the idea of finally playing the copy of FF IV that came with FF Chronicles? Theatrhythm has gotten me into a bit of an FF mood, but not sure I want to devote the time when I've got other things that need playing too.

Why would you play that version? The 'best' version is probably the one on PSP, or that 3D one that's on DS/iOS and coming soon to psp. If you want the original experience go with the snes version. the ps1 version is sort of the odd-man out in that games case.Originally Posted by Gintoki
Pretty sure Anthology and Chronicles were both terrible. They added frustrating load times, and the translation for FFV is pretty awful.
Best version of FF4 is probably the PSP version. GBA would be the second best bet, if you want the "original" experience. I think the SNES game is on the VC, but I think it's the easytype that was originally localized.
GBA is the best version of FF5 hands down. Not really a competition.
SNES is still the best version of FF6. Music was kind of messed up in the GBA version, and there's some framerate problems when using an airship. The translations are a toss up. The GBA game is censored, but the overall translation is otherwise better than the SNES version (but some people prefer the Woolsey version so much they actually made a patch for the GBA version to add his translation back in).
Because its the version I own? I bought it back in the day cause it came with Chrono Trigger. I'm not gonna go out and buy another version when I've already got this.

Personally I can't stand playing a game if I know it's an 'inferior' version. One of the main reasons I have yet to play Suikoden II (psp version not having a translation and all)

Yea you're right, my mistake.
Finished my first playthrough of Journey on Friday and it was absolutely amazing, I wound up with a companion who waited for me several times when we got separated. I can't believe I waited this long to try it.
