Xenoblade: 167 hours. I finally finished the game. There were a few things I passed up on but I'm good for a while. In my replay I'll check out the Japanese track. My first couple scenes haven't impressed me too much on that front - Dunban in particular is a major step down. I'm usually a Japanese track when I have a choice kind of guy but man, Japan just didn't nail this too well...
Goodness, burned out on Xenoblade, much..? XD I suppose you definitely got your money's worth out of it, though! :]
I agree with the sentiment on the Japanese track for Xenoblade. I'm not exactly big on Japanese voice acting in general, but it was just totally flat compared to the English in this case. Dunban and BACONBACONBACONBACONson especially just based off what I heard. Whoever directed the VA for NoE, and of course the voice actors as well, deserve major props for their work here.
And I've put almost 250 hours into it now since the EU release... 143 on that version and 93 on the NA version I think, plus some number of uncounted hours that weren't saved (lost progress to a Dolphin crash, farming gold chests, just not saving because I didn't do anything productive, etc).
Didn't burn out, I just didn't feel like taking the time to do some gem/equipment farming for the hardest content on my first playthrough because I'd rather not resort to the cheese tactics most people use and if I don't do that, I pretty much need to have an ideal setup in terms of skills/gems. I definitely got my money's worth though.
Played my friend's copy of Tales of the Abyss 3DS last night. The loading times are much better than the original, but everything else about it is worse. The graphics took a huge hit, the colors look really washed out, the music volume is oddly low compared to the sound effects, and the 3D is probably the worst I've seen in a 3DS game. I love Abyss, but this version feels like a really lazy port.
I've only played it for a little bit the other day but from what I played I really liked. It reminds me a bit of Skyrim, though with more fantasy feel especially with the characters and the colorings of the town and forests. ^_^
Playing Harvest Moon: Magical Melody for the GameCube.
Honestly, if you're level 99, you shouldn't need the most optimal setups to do everything in the game. There are a couple things you'll need to farm, but they'll be so easy to do it won't take much time at all. I'm on my way to nearly 100%ing the game, and I only have two characters at level 80. Now THAT requires a lot of thought, farming, and such.
About to do a quest where you have to fight two level 98 unique enemies at once, with one having heavy spike damage and the other with a daze spike. That will probably be the biggest challenge in the entire game for me.
Unlocked all of the costumes in PD2nd for Miku, Neru and Rin. Haku is next then Luka. Also the final song is brutal and unforgiving.
I am also playing through the beast that is Etrian Odyssey 3. I just made it to floor 19 with roughly levels 43, 47, 50 and two 51's. I am about 70 hours in and going for the true ending. With any luck it won't take me another 30 hours to finish the game.
