Ahh bloodlines I haven't play that one yet, I didn't know there was a Castlevania on the Genesis until the PS2 era, I'll have to find a copy someday.

I did not know that there was a Castlevania game on the Genesis until just now. X3 I will need to check if it is on the VC, or just buy a Genesis when I am "rich", since I am already buying a Dreamcast and a Saturn (eventually).

Still... the best Castlevania is Simon's Quest. I really need to get a guide and complete it one of these games.

Yea, Genesis isn't very well known, which is too bad because it's actually pretty decent.

I'd have to say my favorite old school Castlevania would be IV, I remembered being so wowed playing it the first time because it was such a leap forward. In general though, I'm a big fan of Rondo of Blood and of course, Symphony of the Night.

I like to pretend the N64 entries don't exist. Bad... so, so bad...

What was so bad about them? Those were games that I always say at the old Mr. Video ages ago, and never got, despite always wanting to try...

In all seriousness, I agree that Simon's Quest is flawed, if not very flawed, but it was my first Castlevania, and my second NES game (First was Super Mario Bros), so, even though I am not a HUGE Castlebvania fan, it still has a place with me. :3
