I actually just watched Battle Royale the other night, I'm generally kind of squeamish too and I was okay with it. It didn't have a lot of occasions of spurting blood that just suddenly happen for no reason, you can usually tell when something's about to end in pain. :P (Also I personally didn't think the blood looked very convincing, so that helped.)

For pickups, I grabbed Mass Effect 2 tonight, whoohoo~

I would actually say that's a pretty fair description all the way through. The elemental weapons are the only real twist, if you can call it that, which you probably can't.

That sucks because I feel like they advertised the game in the description as having a unique combat, but oh well. I just picked up Jeanne D'arc yesterday for cheap, the anime cutscenes are really well done, I never realized that was a Level 5 game.

I think I am going to buy Journey today. And then I will play it, long after everyone else. And I might finish it today, maybe. I will try to update this after I have bought it and leave vague impressions which will likely be positive.

Getting a PS3 tomorrow . Can anyone suggest a few JRPGS to pick up?

    Letsee...

    Hyperdimensional Neptunia
    Hyperdimensional Neptunia MK2
    Tales of Graces f
The Atelier Trilogy (Rorona, Totori, and Meruru... preorder for the LE is still up, if interested here)
    Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny
    Eternal Sonata
Ar Tonelico Qoga: The Knell of Ar Ciel

I WOULD suggest FFXIII since I enjoyed it myself, but I won't since the hate-train for it should be coming by any minute now

Glad you also liked them^^ I'm trying to play through XIII-2 currently, and enjoying it. Not so much the story so far, but I haven't played enough to really judge... I guess you played them via 360?

I'd recommend Atelier series myself. They are nice and relaxing, and no world saving involved.
Plus, the art is beautiful, and eye candy is never a bad thing. ;]

If you want a humor/reference filled game, Neptunia 1 and 2 are a riot. Don't expect too much out of the game-play from 1, but the events never failed to put a smile on my face, so it was still well worth going through.
If there were no (developer/publisher) to complain about, we would need to invent it.

    Buy. Valkyria. Chronicles.

You will miss something if you dont play that one. The Story is great, the artwork is gorgeous, and the Gameplay is very beautiful, even if it is more of a SRPG. I wouldnt know other games to add to the list, that are JRPG's, but it goes without any comment that Disgaea is recommended as well. And personally, if you like more SRPG, maybe you will like Agarest.

    Edit: Maybe Star Ocean too.
