    Wayforward games on Japanese eshop.

    Hello!
I might be wrong, but I understand you guys published Shantae for android on Japan and Korea right?
Wouldn't it be possible for you to publish Wayforward games on the Japanese eshop?
Seeing as how good they sell in the west, I'm sure they would end up on the top 10 of most downloaded games of the Japanese eshop, if ever released.
Plus considering how little would have to actually be 'localized', it seems ridiculous how no one has published them yet honestly.

You might be confused, XSEED is a North American publisher, and never published a game in Asia.

    E3 '12 Interview w/ WayForward's Voldi Way
"... we did Shantae last year on Andriod. It’s only out in Korea and Japan now, weirdly, but we’re working on the US version too. And it was only because the publisher XSEED came to us and said, “Hey, can we ship Shantae in Japan and Korea? We’ll do the port,” and we’re like, “Sure.”"

Actually XSeed has done Entglish-to-Japanese translations before, as was mentioned in the recent Q&A. I guess Shantae was what they were referring to.

Yeah, he's absolutely right. We published Shantae: Risky's Revenge in Japan (or at least localized it for publishing in Japan -- not sure if we actually did the publishing or not). My boss actually did the translation for it himself -- in two weeks, no less! Guy's a speed demon.

This is worth looking into. I'll bring it up at work. I'm sure there's a reason it hasn't been done already, but I'll check just in case.

I didn't know this! Have y'all ever localized any other games in non-English languages?
