Luckily the bots that post several threads per minute haven't showed up, those are the worst.

And Ragnawind's suggestion is probably the best bet, as far as I know bots still have a lot of trouble answering the captcha questions. And not only are they harder for the bots to interpret than the standard letters and numbers, but they are easier for real people to do, since sometimes you get some really messed up captchas.

Things seem to be under control right now, but I may have to resort to this...Captcha thingy-whatsit. It looks interesting, to say the least. Thanks be to Ragnawind for the counter-measure idea and you for such an eyebrow-raising screenshot.

For now, though, I think Blue Star Princess has the right of things: I SHALL EAT THEIR SOULS.

Well, it takes a lot less effort to implement Captcha than ban spammers. Banning spammers is fun too, but it makes life a lot easier in the long run.

I'm actually greatly amused by this spambot. Just look at the elaborate effort it goes through! Certainly a feat! O_o;

I mean, for Pete's sake, it has an avatar, a sig, a location.... And to top it all off, an ICQ number!
