HELL YEAH !
That 's a good name so maybe.
If my wife / husband is fine with it.
That sounds like an anime so NAH !
YOU ARE A WEABOO !
Others.
Don't forget the poll, guys.
I mostly like Japanese music, especially songs in anime, and I don't like Western music, so that means I 'm a weaboo ?This can include liking ONLY Japanese music
Maybe because not many people make fun of Europe so there is no bandwagon to jump on...Or does it not count because Europe is not a single country? Or because it's not Japan?
Were they being serious or just kidding ?What more annoying is having peoples who new/noob to the anime/otaku calling me a "baka"![]()
I wouldn't worry about the "standards" for being a weeaboo. As you said in the OP, the term has lost all meaning from overuse. I think the differing definitions in this thread illustrate that. =pI mostly like Japanese music, especially songs in anime, and I don't like Western music, so that means I 'm a weaboo ?![]()
You're free to like whatever you want, screw anybody who has a problem with it. Personally, I find excessive negativity toward something like one's tastes in entertainment far more annoying than excessive positivity, as what a person likes doesn't have any real effect on anyone but the person themselves. People like that are just BACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONs.

?!? Odd that you chose this particular forum for the thread...
That's why I don't do the clubs personally (well, that and other reasons). Dismissing something solely based on its age is silly.
As for the topic on hand, weeaboo speaks more volumes on the people who sling it around with little thought more than the individuals the term is supposed to deride. I like Chaosblade's point here because it's an appropriate one. If someone were to like European culture here, that's not something that would invite criticism. Liking even the smallest bits of Japanese culture though? That's akin to genocide! Now it's one thing when you're talking about those fans where they throw around random Japanese words into their English sentences from time to time with no idea what those words mean, but lumping together someone who can appreciate any culture in addition to one's own is ignoring the fact that we are an increasingly global entity and it is often through culture that we can foster a closer relationship by understanding (if not always liking) something about another country. The rampant bias shown toward the Sikhs in the last decade shows why we really should be more empathetic about "foreign" values and traditions.

Support for the localization of Luminous Arc 3~ キタ━━━(゜∀゜)━━━!!!!! http://xseedgames.com/forums/showthr...ous-Arc-3-Eyes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I said, to me it's like a mix of a lot of the things I mentioned. The main thing is the SUPER anti-dub and anything englishy. Not to mention they are... usually VERY vocal about it on forums too :/
Sorry, too 'old'! And going back to before they did stuff digitally? Well, unless you're name is DBZ or Miyazaki, no one cares for thoseToo 'old'!! (This mentality makes me cry.... So many great shows missed out!)
I think this must be a more recent thing, since the clubs when I was around were full of people my age that had seen things from Urusei Yatsura to Record of Lodoss War to Cowboy Bebop, and so forth.

If there were no (developer/publisher) to complain about, we would need to invent it.
