    Korg M01

(Sorry if the image is too huge)

I've fortunately had the opportunity to use and I must say, it is by far superior and easier to use than the Korg DS-10. I've actually made something in it which I will share if anyone asks since I don't want to make it seem like I'm advertising my work.

If anyone is wondering about what this is, it's Detune's latest Korg for the DS. It is based on the M1 I believe, which was popular at its time or so I've heard. And so, on to my suggestion. You guys should bring this over if you can. People who loved the DS-10 will want to hop on this one right away .

KORG DS-10 did well for us, though its follow-up, KORG DS-10 Plus, didn't quite live up to expectations (perhaps they were too similar except to the serious pros that knew exactly how huge of an upgrade it was?). With that said, the DS-10 was put out by our parent company in Japan so it was very easy for us to obtain the publishing license, while the M01 is developed by a different outside studio (granted, with most of the same team members from DS-10 that left our parent group). Afraid this one isn't going to happen.

I'd say it's probably because you need a DSi in order to take advantage of the upgrades I think.

Anyway, that's a shame, really . I was hoping to see this localized seeing as I'm only borrowing a copy from a friend for the time being so I won't have access to it all the time.

Thanks for the explanation. I was actually kind of curious about that (thought I posted, I guess not). DS-10+ caught my eye a couple weeks ago and I've considered picking it up. Probably will next time I order from Amazon.

Detune – an application development startup created by the developers of Korg DS-10 – have announced Korg M01, a new music workstation for the Nintendo DS based on the classic Korg M1.

It'll be released as an eShop download this summer in the west. Japanese version will be the equivalent of $30.
