My definition of "indie" used to be pretty black and white. If you had a publisher, then you weren't indie. It's changed a bit since then, and not so clear-cut anymore.
Well considering there was an EA indie bundle not too long ago I would say that definition has gotten stretched pretty thin.
Anyway, taking an existing Japanese RPG for the PC translating it and putting it on Steam is basically what Carpe Fulgar did and most people seem to regard them as indie. And yes I realize their source material was indie, but still.
It's ultimately just a word but hopefully it attracts some new fans.
Well, I guess in our press releases, it does say we're an "independent-minded publisher."

Figured I'd bump this up.
Both Ys Origin and Ys Oath in Felghana are 50% off for the duration of the Autumn Sale (now until the 27th).
Of course they could be daily/flash deals and get bigger discounts sometime during the sale as well.
If both of those go down to $5, I'll double dip with Felghana and finally get around to playing Origin.
Yeah... I caved and bought Portal 2 yesterday, so I've only got $6 CDN in my PayPal left right now. I'm really hoping that Origin or Alice 2 drops down to $5, so I can get either one of them. That should keep me busy until the winter sale.
