    Rumor: Falcom to go multiplatform?

Tossing this in the Trails subforum since it seems most heavily related to the Kiseki series.

Floofy just posted this a bit ago.

Basically, 3DS ports of the Kiseki series, as well as a return to PC. Remember that not too long ago there was mention of Zero no Kiseki running on PC in-house, but we never got any information or confirmation as to what exactly that was.

Even though they say its only a rumor. I think there is a fair chance that it might be true. I know PC might happen. The only thing new for Falcom would be the 3DS.

3DS is pretty solid worldwide and Nintendo seems to have a better plan going forward than Sony. Moving to 3DS, multiplatform or even eventually exclusively, wouldn't be surprising to me at all. In fact I'd wondered about that even before this popped up.

PC is probably not for the Japanese market, if it's legit. That would definitely be something targeting a worldwide audience.

3DS, eh? Well, if this happens, and a certain bacony company wants to bring them over to me, they'll be getting some (more) of my money; it tends to be the system that I bring around the most.

Ys on Vita and Kiseki on 3DS. Lol, I can imagine the reactions of people at the idea of having to buy both platforms.

Well, to be fair, it didn't really have a future on PSP anyway due to all of those issues. If SC doesn't get ported anywhere/fixed/whatever, it will probably be Steam-only in North America.

Personally, I think the more options the better. Fixing the game for PSN so PSP/Vita owners can play it, a 3DS verison, and a PC version... there would be no more excuses!

I agree with you that it stood no chance on the psp. The series does have a better chance of making its way over here in its entirety honestly if it moves to the 3ds, but wont Falcom have to port all the games to the 3ds first? And then xseed will have to release FC on the 3ds eventually if Falcom ports it over.

Then there are other things I wonder about, such as clear saves from FC to SC. I dont have a 3ds yet so idk how the save system works on it but if its anything like the DS then you cant transfer saves or whatnot like the psp so there is that problem as well.

I think it would be good all around if Falcom went multi-platform and ported the Kiseki games to the 3DS—it'd probably be especially good for the Kiseki series in the West, considering the 3DS will probably be the most successful new gen handheld platform compared to the Vita.

It could also open up the possibility of SC being released on the 3DS here—something I'd honestly prefer over Steam, as I have a Mac and compatibility is sometimes an issue, but either way, this rumor is an exciting one. I'll be interested to see how many legs this rumor has.
