"Slipgate Central"? iirc that was the name of a game or mod back in the day. Also a very talented Blizzard artist goes by that name online.
Well hope Tom or Jess can move this thread and the other to another.
The scorching flames of justice shall never fade away as long as evil thrives in this world...THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY BRACERS HAS ARRIVED!
- Estelle Bright
the game is good, i like most of the characters/voices, music ranges from good to great - it will get stuck in your head. i'm indifferent to the story - i usually prefer my video game stories black coffee style... think wizardry, the dark spire, etrian odyssey 1/2/3, legend of grimrock, shin megami tensei: nocturne. i don't really like the follower system, personally... i just think it feels tacked on, but it's not a deal-breaker. dungeon exploration is good, but where the game really shines (imo) are the boss battles! i've finished the first 3, and for the most part, you can expect to die a few times (i did the 3rd boss in 1 try without any preparation/returning to town, but i happened to have fang's 3rd boost skill ready to go). there's some grinding involved, but it doesn't drag on too much, and you can get most of it done WHILE exploring.
in short, the game does what it was meant to do. i'm overjoyed that first-person dungeon crawlers are making a strong comeback!
i think slipgates were from quake.
