Mmk... makes sense. And I just a second article (first was Siliconera) from IGN saying it only took them 13 minutes. So... not as much to worry about as I thought.

Yes, it usually doesn't take that long. Same thing for patches and DLC.

As often happens with Xseed releases , and it was always likely with a FP dungeon crawler, I finally cracked and got this at full price. I've only just finished the first titan but Darius was an amazing battle at level 20.

The first couple of tries were rather pitiless slaughter, but just calmly tapping down the feet with physicals and frost while tossing medicine/pills, followed by going berserk on the middle arms with bursts and link skills, left me in almost manageable combat with the head and top arms. Finally, with pretty much 0 mp left on all characters and no healing or mp items remaining, Fang delivers the finishing blow. Phew! Well, that was a decent boss fig-

"Darius attacks! Hell Cannon" The cheating BACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACONBACON!. The girls die. It's not like they were going to achieve much with 0 mp but going from thinking the battle is over to two dead characters in a couple of seconds is a bit demoralising. At that point, I literally had nothing left except Fang and Hector's attack command and prayer. Hector finished him with like 30 hp remaining.

Not bad for a first boss.

(My only gripe with the game is something many players have mentioned: the fact that judgement battles are not a skill based affair. I have nothing against the concept, but you should be able to win reliably against superior odds if you play well, which isn't the case as far as I can see. It's just a series of straightforward beef gates.)

I had a similar experience with Titan Darius. Sadly to say, from this point on the bosses are not even close to the same level of challenge. Early on in the game you are short on money, synthesis recipes aren't open to you and materials are lacking. (Not to mention even gold to buy gathering tools.) If you're doing all the quests along the way all the bosses from now on can be beaten through using attack and the random heal. As a word of advice, beeline for the level 2 and 3 bursts early. Having a level 2 burst on my second play through turned the Darius fight from ridiculous into 'I just took down all 5 parts with Hector and Fang's Level 2 bursts'.

Alas, Fuepepe, I must reluctantly concur after finishing chapter 2. My party wasn't particularly logical (I didn't have a decent healer as Tiana was still about 2-3 levels away from the relevant skills) and I'd literally made it to the final tortoise floor for the first time with about half mp remaining. I figured I'd just "take a look" for the heck of it. 3 minutes, some physical attacks and a few heals later and we were on our way back to town!

I'm pleased that my thought to go for the level 2 bursts ASAP was correct though. I assumed generally that random encounters aren't much of an issue when level appropriate (but fun when they aren't) and that therefore a situational nuke button is much more useful than a global increase in throughput. I'm still enjoying this though and I'm sure it will be plenty challenging enough if I keep showing up badly prepared.
