I still wish some sort of limited print would be available for Trails, even if it is pricey :/ That's my biggest wish though, if/when it goes to PC. Limited to either 500-1000 copies or something and charge enough that it'll be profitable.

PSP is my system of choice, but I'd be ok with a Vita release too, if Falcom decided to port it with enhanced textures and such from the pc version. A PC-only release would just feel like a betrayal to console/handheld gamers.

Fact of the matter though, is that TiTS didn't sell all that well, so there's just as much blame to put on those console/handheld gamers.

I'd be willing to pay well over the standard price for even just a normal printed run of SC, but I'm completely understanding of the fact that, with the way the first one went, it'd take a whole other kind of 'Kiseki' for that to happen.

I didn't even know the game existed until I stumbled upon it in clearance one day, and it makes me sad that there are so many other gamers out there who don't even know of the title. I mean, the only reason I bought it is because it looked like the sort of thing that was far too good for that bin.

Betrayal? Pft. Even a PC release would require a tremendous effort on part of XSeed; to call that a betrayal would be horrible. It's far preferable to have the game - in any form - than to not have it at all. I'd still love Xseed if I had to play the series on Steam. And as said, I'd buy FC again if it came down to that... SC's one of only a couple games I'm still looking forward to nowadays.

A lot of people didn't buy it though because of the well known fact that it ends on a cliff hanger. Once the sequel is out the original will surely get a boost in sales. Besides, while as the sales weren't amazing, they were certainly not bad either.

I repeat, to console/handheld gamers. PC gamers and those that care about PC gaming would be thrilled that it was coming to their platform, I'm sure, but a lot of people that play consoles don't play PC games for one reason or another.

You guys talk about Trails' sales as if we know them. Unless you guys have an NPD report, and a copy of XSEED's license for the game then I don't think we're in a position to talk about that.

Imagine how the Japanese felt after years of Falcom supporting PC to suddenly release PSP, and Vita exclusive games.

For most people it would simply be a conscious choice not to get the game on PC, since the system requires (as with most Falcom games) are extremely low. There's really less barrier for entry there versus any exclusive console game, since pretty much everyone has a PC, and most people aren't using PCs that are a decade old.

So, once again, its their fault. Do they think not buying it will make the sequels possible?

If the kind of Japanese games I like were available on pc, I'd buy those as well, but at the moment, the majority of Japanese pc releases here are a handful of eroge.

No, they just don't want to get into a story which they may never get to see the ending for. Lets put it this way: If you saw a book for sale that was supposed to be a classic, but it was torn in half and and only the first few chapters were readable, would you still buy it? Even with the knowledge that at some undisclosed date the second half may or may not become available, it's still half a book.

I picked it up because I'm ok with buying half a book so long as I enjoy what is there, but I don't think it's right to blame those who wont.

You've pretty much said exactly what I was going to say so I'm just going to shamelessly take your post as my own. Also you seem new so welcome, your signature is amazing.

But I don't think that it's right to say that Xseed is betraying someone by putting it on Steam. They want to release it on PSP, just look at all the posts that Tom has made, it's just hard to do and at the end of the day they are a company and have to make the best decision to help them stay in business so that they can keep bringing us these awesome games. The reason that people haven't bought it doesn't really matter what matters is that it hasn't been bought and releasing a physical release based off of people saying they might buy the first one if the second one comes out is risky to say the least. Steam just has less risk and Xseed can't really afford to risk losing a lot of money, they are a really small company after all and the business that they are in isn't the most profitable out there anyway. True it's not fair to blame those that didn't buy it because of the cliffhanger, though I think that they should have more faith in Xseed but that's another matter, but it's also not fair to blame Xseed for trying to stay afloat by putting it on Steam.

Corpse Party. That's the only 100% correct educated guess. Anything else is just a guess.
