    Ys Origin Won't Start(steam)

I just bought Ys Origin a day or two ago and have been unable to actually play it. I click play and then it says "preparing to launch Ys Origin" and then nothing. It's like I didn't actually do anything. I have followed all the of the steam instructions(already contacted there support and did everything) have updated all the drivers I can find and still no dice. Upon further inspection a "dump file" is created in the game folder for Ys Origin every time I try to start it. I have looked online to find that more ppl have had this issue but I haven't seen an answer to the problem. If this is something that can be fixed great if not I'd like to get my money back.

    Thanks ahead of time.

If you emailed support@xseedgames.com already, you should be hearing back soon with a crash test build that's hot off the presses. And if you haven't... drop an email to support@xseedgames.com, and attach the .mdmp dump file to the email, and we'll try to get back to you as soon as we can with the necessary file, which SHOULD hopefully resolve your issue.

In the meantime, you might want to try disabling movie playback in the config program (if you can access the config program), and try also updating your video card drivers.

    Sorry for the trouble!

I used to get that a lot with Steam (luckily not anymore). I remember waiting two days to get one of my Steam games past "preparing to launch.." part, and no. I gave up. Tried again after few days, few hours stuck at same point and gave up. A week later one more try, and after nearly an hour of waiting, the game started.

Yea sorry, no answer here either for your problem. "Wait and try again" is not really an answer is it :S

To be fair, if it's generating a .mdmp dump file, then it's probably a legit crash -- not just Steam weirdness.

Though Steam weirdness may be CAUSING the crash... but either way, it shouldn't be happening.

Well I didn't read that far lol. I just assumed it is Steam BACONBACON when I saw that "Preparing to launch". MY Steam-hatred .

So it actually crashes (does not show the part "Preparing to launch" part) or just stays stuck in that "Preparing to launch" part(as in my case)? Or is it possible to crash and still stay with preparations for launch?

Can your post your computer specs? This may help in diagnosing the problem.

Does not say your graphics or sound card. But wait till you hear back from xseed first.
