With Sega's current state of affairs, their release of anything related to Vocaloid on this side of the ocean would be baffling.
I'd buy it though.![]()

It actually makes alot of sense considering the PS Vita userbase is tiny and sales aren't picking up anytime soon by the looks of it (Sony has stated they will not be price dropping the PS Vita anytime soon.). PS3 already has a userbase in the tens of millions for NA & Europe. It just has more "potential" for sales.
Localize both versions, release both as DD-only, arrange some B1G2 deal, cloud save, get Sony to advertise it again and BOOM!
That is a good idea however the chances of that happening are zero.
Sega would never go through that much work for Hatsune Miku of all series. They wouldn't even do that for Valkyria Chronicles or Yakuza (They most likely couldn't afford it either with their current financial situation). Also, Sony's advertising sucks this generation.

Chances are zero, yes, but that's the best case scenario for Sega on a 0% chance of them bringing this game.
If you are translating a game already, and the game is available on two platforms - both with thriving digital sales platforms why wouldn't you release both versions? The major cost is the translation and licensing... which you've already got for localizing one version!
I may be blinded and misunderstood by society. But I see things that other people do not see. Knowledge is power but also creates insanity. Respect the decisions made by other people and they will respect yours. I am now called "therpgfan" on other websites now.
Well the PS3 version isn't coming out in Japan until 2013 while the PS Vita version is releasing this August and who knows if Sega will add new songs (or even switch up songs like they've done from game to game on PSP) etc.. adding to those fees. I doubt and hope Sega wouldn't release the exact same game a year later for the PS3. I'm expecting some extra and new content to bring in another purchase from Miku fans.
It'll all depend on whether or not Sega adds extra content or changes content to the PS3 version or not.
Okay, and so if SEGA adds new songs to the PS3 version, how does that suddenly hurt the Vita version? I have to imagine there will be overlap in the song listing or else they'd be two different games. Say SEGA US licenses and translates the content for the Vita version, that makes it so that when the PS3 version comes out they already have most of the game already translated.
