    The Characters...

    Anyone else think they look like rejected Kingdom Hearts characters?

    I realize this game probably has the same character designer as Kingdom Hearts since they definitely have the same art style, but a lot of them seriously look like scrapped Organization XIII members.

    Can't really say that I agree. Pretty sure the artist is the same guy who did the Drakengard games. While the in-engine models sometime look a bit ... off, the character art itself looks great imo.

    Might be a bit over-designed, but definitely not a Nomura-type design. More like a mix of xenoblade and tactics ogre psp, but more ... brown?

    It scream Drakengard 2, not Kingdom Hearts ^^

    For those saying it looks like Drakengard's art, you'd be right on the money. The artist is Kimihiko Fujisaka, charater designer for Drakengard 1 & 2. I personally love her style (proud owner of the Drakengard 2 artbook after much searching!). If you'd like, Nintendo Power latest issue also has a spread on Fujisaka's art, specifically early concept art and ideas from The Last Story.

    That early noir concept art is awesome, I have a high res version of it (that's actually really easy to find now). I find it disappointing they ended up changing the overall theme of the game to blah fantasy, because that early art is so much more interesting.

    Kimihiko Fujisaka is a "he" ^^;

    And, no, the characters in TLS look nothing like the KH characters. Not even close. Not to bash Nomura's stuff('cos I do like it) but Fujisaka's art is WAY more detailed:

    Fujiksaka: http://lvls.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/tls-wp.jpg

    I think for me it's their clothes that give them a Nomura style. I dunno, for some reason their jackets give me a Nomura vibe. And the in-game models look more Kingdom Hearts-y than the official artwork.

    This! I would kill for this version of the game! Its so awesome to me. Now I see the game differently and would like it to be like this ....damn...I shouldnt have botherd to even read this topic im kinda bummed now

    But on the topic I honestly cant see any resemblence between KH and this games art they are way to different. The art does have a few aspects to some other game art styles,mainly the faces to me,but KH wouldnt be one of them in my opinion. Totally different styles I think

    Ah, thanks for the correction! I can't read Japanese, so I had just assumed. Either way, his artbooks are completely worth owning, should you ever come across them!
