When the Seagulls Cry: Rondo of a Witch and a Mystery ( Umineko ps3 game)

I know Xseed hasn't done any PC games ( from my knowledge anyways) And visual novels always seem to never make it outside of Japan unless it's fan subbed and patched, but I would love it if Xseed brought the ps3 port/ remake here. I know only a handful of visual novels made their way here, but this would make a great first entry to new fans or people curious about the series!

It'd be cool to see something like this over here, but VNs aren't nearly as popular in the US as they are in Japan. =(

It's gotten to the point where even the next Ace Attorney game (the only seemingly popular VN-like series over here) probably won't even come over, which really sucks, honestly.

As much as I love anything by Ryukishi and would really like for this to come over here, it seems really unlikely that this game would get released here. It's a visual novel on a home console without any sort of choices. Many other visual novels at least have different routes and endings and whatnot.

Though if this did get released here, it'd be a day one buy for me.

If the people who started this request at Aksys Forums kept supporting it, it'd already be localized. There was a huge demand, and then it just faded away. If you want, ask it at Aksys Forums, but after what happened, I'm really pissed at those who participated on the first part of the request ordeal but then just gave up.

Yeah it really does suck ∞

As for this game, I can't say I've ever heard of it, but I'd love to see more VN type games.

As you can tell from my avatar, I'm a fan of Umineko (Though I'm only at Ep.5 at the moment) and would love to see this localized. Although I'm all for trying to get Aksys to localize this, it would be nice if we get the attention of other publishers on this as well if Aksys somehow can't bring it over here or refuses to.

We need more visual novels over here, and they might just do well if they were available outside the PC. I mean, a lot of people that played a few on the DS are practically craving for more at the moment. Last I checked, 999 is still selling well and it's been out since September. Hotel Dusk sold well as well when it came out, and people've been dying to see Last Window come to the US (Even though it's already released in Europe).

As for the future of Ace Attorney, I still don't believe that Gyakuten Kenji 2 won't be localized until it's been confirmed at Captivate '11 that it won't be, considering every game in the series has made it over here, sold well, and I can't imagine Capcom not bringing it. The only reason I can see why they probably won't bring the game over is because since 3DS will be out long enough for good titles to be available by the time it's released over here, it might hurt the sales of GK/AAI2.

You guys have to remember, Sora no Kiseki FC almost killed us, and SC is threatening to finish the job. Throw us a Ryukishi07 visual novel, and I'm pretty sure it WILL kill us!

I'd love to see this happen, myself, as I'm a HUGE fan of Higurashi and Umineko... but this would be a REALLY BIG PROJECT. Even if we were to buy the existing fan-translations from the PC versions of Umineko, the editing alone would probably take longer than the entire localization process of Trails, and SCEA might not even allow this game to be published due to the complete lack of gameplay.

In other words, there are a lot of factors working against this game seeing a release in North America... but hey, you've got a fan in the company (and I'm working on converting Jess, too!), so we'll certainly give it a push.

I wouldn't hold my breath for this one, though, unfortunately.

Isn't that interesting? Nice to know a few tidbits about the process of localization of a possible VN.

I guess we all keep forgetting just how much work you guys are putting into the Sora no Kiseki trilogy. It's just that we have all discovered just how awesome you guys are and now everybody wants to see their favourite title localised. You can't blame us for that, can you?
