    How do you know the japanese screems are better?

    How do you know the japanese screems are better?

    The japanese voice actor female screems are a high pitch screem, while the English ones are a deeper screem.

    I think the English ones are more convincing.

    Mmm, another topic about xenoglossophobia. *licks lips* Tasty. America is one of the only countries with xenoglossophobia, yet, ironically, is also one of the only countries that don't even claim a de facto official language. Amusing, no?

    In the case of a Japanese horror game, would xenoglossophobia be a good thing?

    I'd argue that America isn't a country, it's a continent, and not even North America would sum it up, since it'd include Canada and Mexico. It's the United States, period.

    Well it is clear that 90% of the fan base prefer to have Japanese voice acting over English. Corpse Party isn't a big name in the U.S., so having XSEED making English dub is not a good idea.

    If the English voice acting can match or surpass the original one, then that is fine. But if it sucks or is just about average, then XSEED will just end up wasting their time and money.

    I like this guy. He actually makes sense when he posts.

    PS: I like your Megaman Battle Network pic.

    I think the issue is people underestimate the cost of voice work. Not only do actors need to be paid, but the people who do audio mixing and any editing need to be paid, too! And you just can't skimp on the costs, or else it'll come out sounding sloppy. Corpse Party is a game that relies off its atmosphere, so poorly mixed audio or a poorly delivered line can really ruin a perfectly good title. If Xseed doesn't have the money to pay for this expensive process, so be it. It's better to have a voice track that is perfectly serviceable and made by some really talented folks that just happens to be Japanese than either A: No voice acting or B: Subpar dubbing. Not every game can be as wonderfully done as, say, Atlus' work. Plus, dual audio requires paying for TWO tracks, also very pricey! O: It would be REALLY awesome if every game could have dual audio, in my book, so we'd never have to have this age-old, drawn out argument but sadly, the business world doesn't always make things easy. :[ Sometimes, we gotta make due with what we got!

    Its kind of easier to say America. I always call it Estados Unidos (Basically United States in Spanish) but many people find that really long plus. Their nationality is called American instead of Unitedstatian or something like that. Just something people like using more in my opinion.

    I don't think English VA screams would be any less or more convincing than the Japanese voice. To have a convincing scream one must be mentally afflicted with fear.
    Let's put every VA that is screaming for their character in the same situation as their character.
    I don't know what I'm saying. :P

    I once heard my mom scream because of a large snake came slithering by. Not really horror game material though.

    But if there was English dub, without dual audio, I'd be sad because I won't get to hear Sugita's awesome laugh. :<

    japanese voice actors/actress have more experience when comes to acting a characters because they played their role on other type of voice acting(anime)
    for emotional/funny things/serious situation

    if comes to english dubbers(there are chances of losing a emotional attributes +
    character aspect of a girl/guy)

    for example(using your imagination perspective)

    Naomi Nakashima is a tsundere (character development process that describes a person who is initially cold and even hostile towards another person before gradually showing their warm side over time) on japanese voice

    but in description of English Dubbing teh "tsundere" aspect will lose its originality becoming more tomboyish because of inexperienced Voice Actress(or teh script changed for making it exact timing like japanese ones) for English

    sometimes....its just losing its character aspect

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    this happens actually on English version of Persona 4(Chie Satonaka situation)
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    screams are important one on horror games(specially 2D)...its like you cannot feel that you are part in the story(this happens on playing Fatal Frame 1/2/3 i played....that place scarier but the acting is so mehhhhhhhh) but i love ghosts because they keep the horror

    the most important thing on this game is translation WE ARE Lucky that Xseed make it more original...because
    Tom make the game translation is more like japanese one...with a good nice joke on butt creams...
