Right, now let's not make too many assumptions here since Ys Vita isn't even out yet though I guess it's a no brainer who's gonna localize it I guess...

Games finished in 2013 : Thearythm FF - Pokémon B2 - Tales of Graces F - Miles Edgeworth Investigations - Fire Emblem Awakening - Spirit Camera - Hakuoki - FFVIII - Ar Tonelico II - Riviera
    Okamiden - Rhythm Thief
Now Playing : Pandora's tower - Bioshock - Hotel Dusk

Still looking for Kid Icarus Cards! If you got any that you don't want anymore, they'll get some awsome love!

Well, considering that all the previous portable Ys games were physical release, I suppose this one might be one too.

Let's steer this back on topic-

I think the reason why people are making these assumptions is because of the fact that Falcom has admitted to working with PhyreEngine, which is (now) the big Sony DevKit for PSP/Vita/PS3. However, before anything else shows up, I think Falcom's going to do a multiplatform of Ys Seven before we see a port of Origin.

Then again, I was completely, 100% surprised by Celceta's announcement. (Pleasantly, however!)

But Falcom HAS announced that Ys Seven is getting a multiplatform version. We just... haven't seen sign of it since.

I'd wager the majority of the people asking for a port don't know Falcom is using PhyreEngine for who-knows-what. Most of the people that have made more than a single passing comment about it on GAF (which is admittedly all of like 3 people) have followed up with a comment about the other games being available on PSP/PSN, and didn't know why XSEED wasn't releasing this one on there too.

It's frustrating that people keep assuming that their computer can't run Ys Oath in Felghana or Ys Origin. Most computers that are still alive and kicking today can run it. People have such terribly unnecessary complexes about PC gaming. It has never been easier to game on a PC.

But to keep on topic, I don't expect to see any ports of Ys Origin until after they have done something more with Ys Seven. This is an entirely uneducated assumption, so I wouldn't mind being surprised or wrong.

There was a list on a wiki or a website with the "project names" of all the developers using "phyre engine" when the whole phyre engine devkit was released and I remember Falcom with the name of their "project" on that list.

Falcom confirmed that they are working with PhyreEngine in an interview with SiliconEra sometime ago, actually.

    Thankfully, Google is my friend:

Also, some example games that have been developed with PhyreEngine are Neptunia, Ar Tonelico, and Journey, so people have an idea of what it's capable of doing. (I think thatgamecompany used it for flow and Flower, as well.)
