XSEED, release the game's demo before or at the game's launch!

That's the only request I have. Don't make the same mistake you did with Sumioni, make sure you build a hype before or at the game's release, and don't forget about it a week after the launch. The company basically wipe games out of their agenda once they're out, and that's definitely not something I'd recommend.

Well hopefully Game Arts will let XSEED localize the demo first right?

It's a good idea, and hopefully there will be resources so severs can be used for it. If Sumioni can get one, hopefully this one will too before the release. If possible, please

Well, the demo doesn't have the multiplayer feature right?

You've said that a few times, but I don't think that's true at all. We constantly push to sell our older titles, talking about them incessantly on forums, occasionally hosting giveaways, linking to reviews and impressions on Twitter and Facebook, etc. We've also discounted a lot of our PSN titles after they've been out for a while, which has proven quite effective in rekindling interest.

And while a demo may seem like a good idea, remember, if you make part of the game available for free, a lot of people will be satisfied with just that -- they'll download the demo, enjoy it immensely, but then never buy the game because hey, they already had their fill! Especially if the demo is really long and full-featured, as a lot of demos are these days.

It's a fine line to walk, sometimes. But we do our best to maintain hype and make our games as enticing and rewarding for players as possible. And we'll definitely keep in mind the fact that you guys really want the demo released.

If a demo does come out maybe a short one will be better than a full fledged thing so people can get a tease of what is to come. Though I understand the way Tom is thinking with the way things are coming out now. If we don't get a demo it would be fine either way since there are other ways of advertising the product and as this is a really anticipated title not having a demo really wouldn't be that bad.

if you make the demo the same as the japanese demo, i doubt it'll satisfy peoples hunger for this game. in fact im sure it would only fuel their hunger for more of it because thats what made monster hunter so addicting. the constant strive for better drops to get better gear and such.

i do agree that some games can satisfy people's curiosity for it with just the demo, but i think thats more geared towards action and fighting titles.

Yeah, especially if the demo doesn't have multiplayer, you might just be right! We'll definitely consider this, and see what we can do.

And Perrandy: I know for certain that we hosted a giveaway promotion for Retro Game Challenge, as that's actually how I got my copy of it (back before I worked at XSEED). And I know we've worked with Gamespot to give away codes for our digital games before, too.

Not something we can do all the time, but hey, we try to throw it in whenever we can. (:

I can't believe you're this cheap I remember a time when almost every game out there had a demo that wasn't timed or limited to a certain number of tries. Now everyone wants lots of money with as little effort as possible.
And this why I play mobile games. At least they have lite versions.
