I agree that Trails definitely had the best writing that I've seen in a game in a long time. And as far as PSP and PC games I would say it has the best, I haven't played too many PC RPGs and other then KotOR I haven't really enjoyed WRPGs that much. The only game that I would say has better writing, with regards to humor and entertainment, would be Persona 4 for the PS2. That game had me in stitches the entire time, anyone that has played that game only has to hear the words "King's Game" or "Mystery Food X" to start laughing, and all the characters are amazing. Because of that I would put it just above, and I mean like a millimeter above, Trails. That being said I do think that the I enjoyed the overall story in Trails a bit more but it's a really close call. Honestly both games are really close in my opinion, which is amazing to me because after playing Persona 4 I never thought anything would come close until Persona 5 inevitably came out, and while if I were to make a list of my favorite games Persona 4 would be number one ,with Trails being number two, they are, honestly, so close that they are practically interchangeable.

Hmm, guess I should try P4:G then.

Though from what I heard, the best writing is probably Zero/Ao no Kiseki right now as both games basically give you a mindscrew over and over again.

Well that sounds interesting hopefully we will actually get those games over here at some point, though it is quite doubtful. But yeah if your planning on getting a Vita I can't recommend P4:G enough. With it Atlus is taking an already amazing game and adding a ton of stuff to it. Honestly it's the main reason I'm getting a Vita. And if your not planning on getting a Vita then you should still try and get your hands on the original P4 as, like I said, I can't recommend the game highly enough.

P4 was amazing on PS2, easily one of my favorite jrpgs ever. I'm sort of iffy on Golden though sense they seem to be removing atmosphere from some of the backgrounds and are using a new voice cast (and completely butchering Teddie in the process from the clips I've heard).

But I do have a Vita. And I'm getting RO too!

Also, Fabrizo, seeing as I never played the original P4 on the PS2 what about P4:G?

While the trilogy may be overrated, Mass Effect 2 had some good dialogue.

He's only being butchered on P4A, not P4G.

For the sheer amount of text to do and coordination between, what was it, 3 translators and 1 or 2 editors, it was a pretty good job! There were a couple spots that weirded out to me however; some point in one of the bar/restaurant scenes in either mid chapter 1 or early chapter 2, some scene involving Schera, characters started dropping anyway every few lines, though that's a personal pet peeve.

What stuck out most to me was how Agate introduced cursing into the general tone round Chapter 3. This itself wasn't a big deal, just a change of who was handling the translation at that point, it was even interesting to see Estelle pick it up, and odd when Josette and everyone else starts in chapter 4, but at the very end, Estelle drops one to her dad while they're walking, and no one acknowledges this. It's clear he still sees her as a kid, and it's also clear that this was a liberty taken in localization, both are fine, but what felt odd was that there was no follow-through at all (which is what made the 4th wall breaking with the "Fulitzer" conversation so cute.)

(Completely unrelated to all of this, why is Estelle smiling in the very final shot after the credits? I didn't notice this the first time. Were they just reusing art assets or something?)

I think Estelle smiling represents her going on another adventure continuing in SC with that packed bag.

Oh, Are they keeping his original actor then for P4:G somehow?

Even then I REALLY liked Chies voice in the original, and I know shes been replaced. Havn't heard what she sounds like with the now voice actor yet, but I just hope they don't mess up too bad.

Personally I didn't really have any serious issues with the localization other then some spelling errors, and one or two technical problems, like this:
