    Finally beat TitS...

...And it was glorious. It may have started off slow, but by the end it all really fell into place.

I wanted to say thanks to XSeed for bringing us this wonderful game. Not just the game, but the packaging with a large full color manual was really appreciated as well. I ended up using the manual several times during my play though as I spread it out over a few months and would forget things on occasion (dragging it out so I wouldn't get to the cliffhanger until SC was closer to release).

Some of the dialog was really great too. I took screens while playing and thought I'd share a few I liked.

    Treasure chests.

And a bit of a sequence

Hahah, yeah, I really liked all the dialog too. XSEED sure did one heck of a job with Tits here.

Estelle's pieces were some of my favorites throughout the whole game too.

And all those Treasure Chest messages really makes Treasure Hunting much more fun too!

It'd have to be on the PSP for me, but that's a subject for any topic other than this.

Well, I still be happy to be able to play SC in English on whatever platform it may come out on, though we'll just have to wait and see.

There should be a gaming award for best writing. Well The American Writers' Guild has one, but they chose a Mortal Kombat game for the shortlist, so I'm sure that was a credible and serious competition.

Presumably, apart from the minor but cool addition of chest dialogue, Xseed were just reflecting the snappy and amusing writing of the Japanese version.

Well done to Hisayoshi Takeiri, Yoshihiro Konda, Syuuji Nishitani and Homare Karusawa. Especially whoever was responsible for Olivier's lines.

John Sears, Jeff Nussbaum and Chris Cruz should probably also be applauded for keeping all the wit and charm in a translation to a fairly alien language, which I suspect required some tough decisions at times. I say probably because I don't speak Japanese, so judging the quality of Japanese writing is slightly out of my competence zone. And then obviously Tom and particularly Jess had a significant role in defining the final text in terms of cohesion and stylistic unity I would imagine.

Actualy, rereading Jess' interview below , her irreverent writing style does seem to conform to the humour in the final English version. I wonder how much credit goes to the translators and editors and how much to the original scenario writers?

Yup, all credits go to Falcom and XSEED for this wonderful game. Though I can't wait to see who's in the credits in SC. Then whoever's there really deserve a award or something.
