Honestly... it's not necessarily a terrible way to do it either. Doujin developers are different. They might (keyword MIGHT) be flattered -- see it more as a tribute or homage than anything else.

I think the chances are 50/50 and it is a big might. I know the creator of Yume Nisshi, a Yume Nikki inspired fangame, blocked foreign IPs from downloading Nisshi because some Western fangame makers were using its tile sets or like, traffic cones from Yume Nikki or whatever. And not even in final version, just as placeholders while they made their own art. Doujin developers are indeed all different!
Anyway, weren't you going to use those tiles for the same purpose, Saseko?
Why else would you rip sprites from a game other than to use them?
That was the plan, I know that kinda sounds like a rip off, but I wanted to make it look as much like Corpse Party as possible. So that would involve making the tiles look the same, or even better use the ones that corpse party already has. I'm using the Corpse Party PC versions tiles since they are much more compatible with the rpg maker I am using. As said before my most major concern is getting all the characters looking right, and I think I have found that sweet spot. So long story short, you should see some new stuff pretty soon.
Oh and Wyrdwad I hope this fan game related stuff is okay on these forums, if not let me know and I'll move them else where.
Don't worry, it's A-OK by us. Corpse Party began life as a freeware doujin title, after all, and numerous fan-games were made of it already with the blessings of its creator. The fact that you're doing this at all is a testament to how much this series is loved by fans.
Just as long as there's no piracy of retail goods going on, you're totally cool posting about this here.

Hello, and welcome.
It is time for a update, as many of you know I am creating a fan game known as Corpse Party Akai Sora *Red Sky*.
The plot revolves around two separate schools, that perform the Sachiko Ever After Charm. Of the two schools there is three main characters.
Mizuki Kuruyama, 16
Female.
*NOTE, Mizuki uses Naomi's model, she has a flatter chest :O*
She originally started out as name used for a bunch of notes I was making for a small demo, she then turned into a major character for the demo, in which she became Satoshi's partner while they looked for Yuka. She is described to look similar to Naomi, and Satoshi mistakes her for Naomi. Soon I had a idea that this character should have a amnesia of some type, but later changed it to a memory condition in which she would have at random and suddenly forget everything in a moment, called "memory wipes".
From there I felt she should be a major part of the story since she seemed very popular.
Mizuki will be in Chapter 1 Which will be the first game released.
Takashi Mishizono, 17
Male
*No pic yet*
The main character of Chapter 2, he performs the Sachiko Ever After Charm with his sister Rin, his childhood friend Chidori, and his best friend Kyousuke.
Kyousuke Mitsura, 17
Male
*No pic yet*
The main character of Chapter 3. Best friend of Takashi, is somewhat a deliquent but still has good grades. Kyousuke feels he should never get to close to anyone, but has made a exception with Takashi and his friends. Kyousuke hides a dark secret.
