    Recent Movie Thread

I realized there isn't a general thread to post about movies you've watched recently, so I decided to go ahead and make one.

I saw The Avengers tonight, and it was really good. The action scenes were great, all the actors did a good job (although Robert Downy Jr. stole every scene he was in), and the special effects were very well-done. The humor was excellent, too, and it has what is possibly the greatest post-credits scene I've ever seen. It's also the first 3D movie I've seen where the 3D was actually good. It looked like there was true depth instead of multiple 2D planes overlapping each other. I definitely suggest this to anyone who likes superhero movies.

Loki was a good villain. I never had any interest in watching Thor before, but now I really want to see it.

Now time to steer this away from being completely about The Avengers! (You can still talk about it, though. )

I saw The Hunger Games a couple weeks ago, and it was pretty decent. The book was a lot better than the movie, though. Some sections that were good in the book felt really boring as a movie.

Also, I watched Scott Pilgrim at a friend's house a couple nights ago. I love that movie! I've probably seen it five times since it was originally released in theaters. (Five times is a crap ton for me; I don't watch movies all that much, and even if I really like something I usually only end up seeing it two or three times. Actually, now that I think about it, Scott Pilgrim was the last movie I bought on blu-ray, and I bought it back when it first came out on blu-ray over a year ago. So yeah, that gives you an idea about how often I watch movies.)

I rewatched some of Thor last night actually Loki is awesome, and I don't normally enjoy villans. What made me like him more though, was an interview the actor had. Guy's pretty cool and the accents he can do 0_0 British people I swear, have a natural talent for sounding American. It amazes me! ...but it doesn't always work the other way around :/

Anyways, GREAT action movie! I'm SO glad Battleship comes out in two weeks (after Avengers) because I'm crossing my fingers for it to NOT do well. Becoming a Transformers copycat and hoping to cash in.... no, just no. Especially with what it's based off :/
Oh, also VERY glad I did the early showing today. When I got out, the lineup to get into the XD theatre almost went around the corner of the building. Wow.... It's doing insane at the box too! When I looked at where it stands... Well, it has already done better than Hunger Games in just over a week (and that was #1 for how many weeks?) My goodness records had to have been hit!

I JUST saw it last week (late in the game to see it, but I never had a good chance to). I still need to read the books and it was good. Basically what I expected, except for a few things. The only thing that really bugged me about it, was the cheesey romance scene. I know it was short, but it was just too much! I'm sure it appealed to many huge fans out there though :/

Honestly, I think Battleship looks decent in a so-bad-it's-hilarious way. Definitely don't plan on seeing it, though.

The romance scene was actually toned way down in the movie, which I was happy about. That whole romance subplot was much more prevalent in the book, and it became really annoying in the second book. Haven't read the third yet, so I don't know what it's like in that one, but I imagine it will only get worse in that book. -_-

Oh good, please don't give more money to Hasbro films! I swear if I see "Jenga" the movie pop up in a database... we're ALL doomed!!

I just saw The Avengers, and I agree, it was really awesome! :3 A little more actiony than I was thinking it would be, but, it was very fun. I did feel a little lost though at parts, probably because I have not seen any of the recent Marvel movies. I really should fix that. :3 Nice to know that there is a sequel coming as well.

The post credits scene was just plain awesome. X3 It took me a second to get it, but yeah, one of the best ever. The movie had good humur, like said. :3 Though, what is sticking with me most is not knowing who the hell that guy at the end of the mid credits scene is supposed to be...

One of my local theatres had a marathon showing of the movies. Ironman, Ironman 2, Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and finally, The Avengers. As long as you watch all of those you'll understand it fine I actually want to rewatch Incredible Hulk. I don't remember too much from it, so definately want to pull that off the shelf and watch it again.
As for the guy at the end, my friends knew who he was, but I didn't. Some BIG villan, basically. And what they're doing now is making MORE sequels/threequals to lead up to The Avengers 2. Ironman 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2, Nick Fury, (not sure if Black Widow or Hawkeye get a movie, or if Hulk gets another though).
*whew* Disney's got money in the bag!
