I was able to get my girlfriend into the Steam version of Ys: The Oath in Felghana and now she looks forward to Origin.

Never played a Ys title before, but after the fantastic time I had with Trails I've got more than enough faith in both Falcom and Xseed to give it a shot, and what could be a more fitting start then a game called Origin? And if I end up liking it, I'll be sure to go back and pick up the other PSP titles from the store while I can.

Well, think of Ys as pretty much the opposite of everything in Trails.

Trails is slower paced and tactical/turn-based, while Ys is fast paced hack-and-slash action. Where Trails focuses on the story, Ys focuses on the combat.

That said, I don't think you'll be disappointed. The Ys games are great.

Are the audio files in OGG format again? For some reason Windows Vista does not like it. Maybe it's time for a clean install of Windows... again. Sigh.

Audio files are OGG, yeah. What do you mean when you say Vista doesn't like it? Did Felghana not have audio for you?

Just install the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP). That will fix all of your AV playback issues.

    Find it Here:

I think it might just be all the codec packs I have installed/uninstalled over the years that affected the music. Ill try reinstalling Vista again (clean install). If that doesn't work then I'll let you know Tom.

AFAIK that codec pack is updated fairly-regularly to be up-to-date, so you'll probably want to redownload it.
