That's sad, I hope you get to finish the other endings someday.

The game approaches several interesting subjects, you can't help but think about them when you're not playing.

Luckily you sorted that out, and got to finish Corpse Party!

Saya no Uta is better than both of them, but it will not be to everyone's tastes due to the extreme 18+ content. It's tamer than a lot of eroges, though.

Yep. There's a fan translation, but the Japanese publisher has said they're very interested in giving it an official US release through JAST. There's no way Steam would allow it, unfortunately.

Luckily, JAST don't depend on Steam to release their games.

I've never really been a huge fan of puzzlers. Case in point? I'm still stuck on the prologue puzzle in 999. This doesn't bode well. :P

Let's see if I can help you... I'm the kind of gamer that checks everything, reads everything, double-checks it and try to interact with every kind of object on the game. With Trails in the Sky, it made me talk to NPCs all the time, until they got different dialogues all the time, and on this game, it helped me quite a lot. Try checking everything, and if you're stuck, try it and fail on purpose that the game (and the characters) will give you hints on progressing.

How genre savvy do you have to be in the game? Do they have unpredictable death flags at every corner?

I think I'll have a look of the gameplay on a video before I consider touching this game. I am always hearing great news about this game but I never bothered checking up on it.

My expectations of this game is pretty high so I might go down to my local game store this week and pick it up on the way.

On the subject of Saya: I'm QUITE excited for my copy to arrive! Nitroplus is pulling a Vanillaware and sort of...stalling the release of the English version. It's done, and basically all that's needed to do [from the impression I get via JAST press releases and Twitter updates] is Nitro needs to check it over and and then they put it in boxes then ta-dah. I recommend people who aren't as worried about the sex scenes gore check it out, because it'd be a lovely way to support visual novels in English, and possibly help Steins;Gate, an all ages title with strong 999-esque vibes, get over here too. I ALSO think the game came with an option to add extra mosiacs for the squeamish.

On the subject of 999: It's not much a question of genre-savvy, from what I can remember, but more so a question of what doors you choose and in what order. A matter of experimentation. ;p There ARE some non-door choices, but they're not too complex [Give Clover the bookmark? Yes/no] Simple stuff. There's not "death flags" if you press a button at a wrong time. XP
