Evidently, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is coming to the 3DS. :3

Considering this is on a new console, and a handheld, and it is a Megaten game, this is sure to come out. :3 I am so excited, considering every gushes over this game. Kind of wish we got the first one though... still, happy. :3

    Megaten releases = always good.

    Day 1.
If there were no (developer/publisher) to complain about, we would need to invent it.

Great news! I guess it's too early for them to mention it at E3, but who knows?

Sony blocked the PSP version from ever getting released in the US (too old, not enough new content), but Nintendo should have no qualms with it. I have no doubt that Atlus will bring it over here.

Now, P2: EP on PSP...that's a different story, because it WAS already released here before.

I've heard that Soul Hackers isn't so hot in the first place, though. Hopefully they have some improvements in mind.

Soul Hackers isn't the worst out of the entire franchise. Overall I am excited to see this announcement and hope that those who never got a chance to play it before get to do so. Assuming it comes over here of course.

Yeah, that award would probably go to SMT NINE, the planned Xbox MMO that was only released as a severely gimped single-player game.

I heard that Demikids, if nothing else, was actually a solid set of games...

I'm preparing cake, balloons, and party-poppers for the launch day, which I KNOW will happen not only in Japan, but America and even our oft-left out of Megaten goodness European friends. ;p

But seriously. Atlus has been pretty good about getting their mainline series across the pond lately, and Ghostlight and Rising Star and doing similar things for European territories. I, to the contrary, have heard a lot of GOOD about the game and was anticipating a fan patch. If I can support Atlus by purchasing a new copy, all the better.

My only worry is that I kinda doubt we'll see P2:EP in the US--Atlus probably isn't up for doing any more PSP games after Gungnir/Growlanser. At least I've still got my PS1 copy.

Not true. This seems to be a rumor that has never been put to rest effectively, and please, don't link to the HG101 article. I know what it says regarding the PSP port but it is wrong. The PSP port of Devil Summoner had some technical issues that made a localization nearly impossible.

Personally, I think Soul Hackers is an incredible game. I would be curious as to what you have heard and from where. Soul Hackers is easily one of the best spin-off SMT titles.
