Oh, DDR.. I'm ridiculously uncoordinated.

Ehh, your opinion. Personally, I love that sort of thing.
As for how Unchained Blades uses them, there are occasionally large-scale battles where you're fighting off an entire army, and DDR-style timed button presses determine attacks. Certain strong opponents show up during these battles as well, and have to be pushed back by repeatedly tapping the X button as fast as you can. And all the while, there are enemies literally FLYING OFF THE SCREEN, SCREAMING.
It's really, really chaotic and fun. (:

I'd have given up this, Sumioni, Fishing Resort, and WotS4 for Grand Knights History in a heartbeat.
Currently Playing: Fire Emblem: Awakening, Digimon Adventure, Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed
Games Beaten in 2013: 11: Retro Game Challenge, Corpse Party 2U, Code of Princess, Dark Souls, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Atelier Meruru, Yakuza: Dead Souls, Liberation Maiden, Dr Who: The Eternity Clock, Dead or Alive 5+, God of War: Ascension
By the way, does this already have a release date?
We don't know the scope of what's been going on at Vanillaware. They've had to cope with understaffing and a publisher switch. It could have been just as out of their control as XSeed claims GKH was theirs. I kinda doubt it, though.
EDIT: I've been convinced otherwise. That was all Vanillaware's fault and they won't be seeing any more of my money.

fyi this is a new series made by the grandia team
Don't know if frantically mashing the same button sounds like a great game-play mechanic :P, but as long as it's not too frequent I suppose a little variety is only for the better. The patapon/DDR thing sounds like a lot of fun though.
I wonder, when you compared it to the persona/devil survivor series, in what respect did you mean? Is it with regard to the type of character interaction/story elements or more wrt. the dungeon crawling/battle mechanics. I can definitely see the comparison to Persona psp in terms of it being a somewhat story driven first-person dungeon crawler, but are there any similarities beyond that?
I also find the reference to the Wizard of Oz interesting. One of my favorite books as a kid![]()
In general, I also really appreciate XSeed's willingness to pursue localization of new IPs in a market over-saturated by sequels and spin-offs
Can't wait for more info as release draws nearer.![]()
