There's still a ton of games that are only on the PS2, Ivy covered most of the ones that got localized, and there's also quite a few unlocalized ones like Code Age Commanders, Berserk, or Abarenbou Princess that are worth checking out.

As someone who just finished Metal Gear Solid 3 and shed out infinite Mantears, my answer is yes. It is also worth for a lot of AC Games like Nexus or 2, 2:AA.

The PS2 is my favorite platform of all times, it'll be tough to be that one.
I think it's still worth getting a PS2, simply because it's super cheap, and still has a slew of titles that may not even come to PSN.
Locally I haven't even seen a PS2 that goes for more than $50-60.
If there were no (developer/publisher) to complain about, we would need to invent it.
