Apparently a US trademark for this has been filed. When asked about the possibility of them bringing it over during an AMA at Reddit, John Greiner (president at MonkeyPaw Games and former head of Hudson Entertainment) said: "Yeah, that would be interesting ".

Ya, just read that on siliconera myself. Kinda excited now but not getting my hopes up. I just have to keep wondering if that last screen shot IS about a relationship system or what is it pertaining to? Personally I love relationship systems and heck even Fire Emblem has it now!

Yeah, I just really don't dig the whole first person thing, I threw $60 at CoH 2 but I'd probably not play it much.

The first-person dungeon crawler genre is too oversaturated these days, with everyone and their grandma jumping on the Etrian Odyssey bandwagon. It's undoubtedly because they're only slightly more expensive to develop than visual novels. Even From Software made their own crappy attempt at the genre (King's Field Additional).

Oh, you're right. It is. Well, I'm glad they're moving the series away from that.

But really, who can get excited over an RPG titled "Swords and Magic and a School and Stuff?" (in Japan)

I'm really glad they went away from the first-person view as well. I think that is what is drawing me towards this entry in the series then the rest. I just really hope is has a relationship system in it (like Fire Emblem now has) that includes your character.

Not to sure but they have to be doing good if they keep making them, right?

New screenshots up at Andriasang: http://andriasang.com/con0uz/new_cla...eroes_screens/

I dunno, I'd have to disagree with that. First-person dungeon crawlers were way more common back in the day, even with Japanese developers. I guess there are more Japanese ones now than there was in the past decade, but it's hardly oversaturated.
Even From Software made their own crappy attempt at the genre (King's Field Additional).
But... King's Field is much older than the "Additional" entries into the series... As for whether it's "crappy" or not, well, that's a matter of opinion.

Also, I kind of get the feeling that I'm about the only one that thinks this new style of CoH looks worse than the old games. So far, it doesn't look like there's much (any?) character creation and none of the characters seem particularly interesting.
